BEWARE OF THE FREE LINE SCAM. I was really pressed to take their promotional "free" line at the retailer BUT it is not free. Your bill goes up with the additional line due to taxes and fees. Also, if you move your primary phone number to a different carrier they start charging you premium monthly rates for the "free" line with no notice of the price change and continued billing. There is also no way to check your account on their app because once you switch your primary phone number, there is no way to manage your billing online. Further, there is no way to check with T-Mobile over the phone because if you never set up the "free" line, you don't actually have another phone to perform their two-step verification process. And don't bother requesting a courtesy waver of the bill with the retailer or customer service. All of a sudden, there is absolutely nothing T-Mobile can do for you even though they sang a different tune with adjustments when I had two to three phone lines with them. Not a smart move, because if something happened with my current carrier (Mint Mobile which I LOVE) and is much, much cheaper!), I would never switch back to them. Nor would I recommend them to any of my family or friends.
Recommendation: Do not take the "free" lines they're pushing unless you really, really want it.
