Edmonton Yellow Cab review: Apology. Driver training and courtesy.

Last night after the Oilers game at 10:39 PM my wife and I waved a cab (418) Alberta Licence Plate number U-85840. This was at 104 Avenue just 100 metres west of 102 Street.
After we got into the cab the driver asked us our destination and we told him Century Casino. At which time he said it was a “flat rate” of $50. He locked our doors and refused to let us out. A passerby asked what was going on as our window was rolled down and we told him the cab driver was overcharging and refusing our fare. The passerby asked if we wanted EPS to come assist and we said yes. When the EPS officer was approaching our cab, the driver pulled away from the curb. He had the doors locked. He wouldn’t let us out and demanded we pay “flat rate”. He drove us to back alley area (unsafe neighbourhood) and asked us to get off. He then got off the cab and shut it off and left windows down. He threatened to smash my phone. I recorded the whole incident with my cell phone. We felt unsafe. Kidnapped. Threatened. We had to walk back to 104 Avenue. I am seeking resolution to this matter. I will be talking to my lawyer and sharing my video.
