Wrong size
I didn't have a lot of free space to install a closet so I wasn't sure bout that. So I contacted EasyClosets and their rep assured me that they had different size sets and that there was an opportunity to get the correct size one. So I gave them all the measurements and they helped me with my order.
When my set finally arrived it was way to big and there was not enough space to install. I called them and told that closet was too big and they said that I probably gave them incorrect measurements. They did not apologize, they only blamed me and said that it was my fault.
They also refused to refund my money or to replace for a smaller size set. Terrible company, worst support ever!
The rep was rude and hasn't provided any useful info about the order
I paid money for the closet organizer, which I bought from the company www.easyclosets.com. I was really upset that they couldn’t provide it on time, but I called to the customer services several times already. I was shocked, the rep almost yelled at me and told me to sit and wait. As well as he used a lot of rude and unpleasant words. Not recommended company. Don’t order from them.
Stay away
Unless you want to spend hours with a hacksaw, DON'T BE FOOLED by their claims their product is "easy to install" or "designed to be homeowner installed."
After they take all your measurements, they NEVER TELL YOU that they do not custom size or cut the THICK STEEL BRACKETS required to install the closets in the first place. So, in essence, what you get is a bunck of pieces parts and a date with a hacksaw.
Don't let their cute little "time lapse video" fool you either! See those thick metal support beams there, well they DON'T just magically fit the closet wall: NO, YOU HAVE TO *** THROUGH THEM TO MAKE THEM FIT!
Their designers don't tell you this; the FAQs don't tell you this; the video doesn't show this.
Hacksaws; thick steel beams; sharp edges to harm the closet users (in our case our kids): BAD BAD BAD all around.
I spoke directly to the so-called "Vice President of Internet Marketing" and she could not have been MORE condescending: "You do know how to use a drill, right? and a level, right? and a screwdriver, right?" Then, she claims that my call was being recorded and that there were also several people in the room listening in on the call. This was before she called me back and offered me money not to "drag her company through the mud." HUH?
We don't know about you, but if we wanted to use a hacksaw for hours and hours and hours at a time, we would have gone into metal working.
Trust us: save the time, headache, and expense: STAY AWAY FROM EASYCLOSETS.COM -- THERE IS NOTHING EASY ABOUT THEM.
I've ordered (and installed) four closets from easy closets... And will be ordering a fifth closet system in the next two months. They are easy to install, and the company is totally pro! I highly recommend easy closets!
I don't know I'm just a normal guy who does a few do ityourself tasks a year, I have installed two easy closets in the master and in my daughters room. They are easy and straight forward, like any project it requires you to think and plan your moves before you do it. Remember no construction is truly plumb. Love them and they look great.
Trying to install my closet has been a nightmare. Those EZ Toggles are crap. Should have used the Elfa system instead.
Horrible experience.These are the worst closets to install I have ever come across.I have been a contractor for more than 20 years and have not come across a system like this.The Track is cheap metal for starters ( I can bend it
over my knee) and unless you have a good joist system they will fall off your wall.Metal studs? Forget it.Definitely not for condos.I used butterfly anchors, cement anchors, drywall anchors.Nothing worked.Think about this.You are trying to hold 500 Lbs of Particleboard on a wall.This will be a nightmare for you and your contractor.I am not saying which of these closet companies are good and whose reps stand behind their work but I know who is bad.Easy Closets! What a Joke!
I just received Easy Closets for a new construction house for 5 closets. Fortunately, I have some handymen that I am paying to put them together. They have already spent 2 days on 1.5 closets. The materials came in over 100 boxes ! The pieces were all mixed up (not separated by room). This is crazy. It took me an entire weekend to separate the parts into each room in addition to many handymen carrying heavy boxes up and down stairs as we split up the order. After all the labor costs I would have been better off using closet factory or another local company. It is not easy.
We strongly believe in everyone's right to speak their opinion about their experience with our Company. In fact, we welcome that. But when false statements are made, we need to address the lies.
1) We have always CLEARLY disclosed the installation step in which our track needs to be cut. It is on our web pages titled:
"REQUIRED TOOLS" (under the picture of a hacksaw states "Hacksaw - needed to cut track and cover")
"EASY INSTALLATION" (step 2 "cut track and attach across the back wall" as well as step 9)
"FAQ'S" (We have a complete explanation to the 4TH question, "Is there any cutting involved as part of the installation?").
"COMPLETE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS" (We also discuss cutting the track in several places in the complete installation instructions easily available on our website.) It also comes with your custom plans and custom instructions when you order.
It has been clearly stated this way since we started shipping our product and we have NEVER received feedback like this.
2) We have shipped hundred of thousands of orders to homeowners across the USA for the past 11 years. In many installations the track length is determined based on the location of studs within the customer's walls. That final measurement is determined on site and the track needs to be cut to size on site. The average time to cut a single 1/8" thick track with a hand hacksaw is approximately 45-90 seconds. This order in question had 6 tracks.
3) Based on all of our records and witnesses, this customer’s call was handled professionally and courteously as our entire staff has been meticulously trained to do. Most importantly, this customer was reminded of our generous return policy which states that because he was dissatisfied, he could have RETURNED the entire order FOR A FULL REFUND. Yes, we did offer him a $300 credit to pay for someone to come to his house and cut the 6 tracks for him. This is an offer we considered extremely generous. But we were told that complete payment for the entire installation was the only option. When our reasonable options were declined we were told that he "was going to make our lives miserable." This seems to be the method that was chosen.
4) We have had over 500 customers write in unsolicited testimonials to us. The great majority of these customers installed the product themselves. They clearly understood the installation steps before buying and never felt that cutting our track during the install to be a fraction of the traumatic hardship that this customer feels it has been. In fact we have several grandmothers and other unlikely people who have gone on record to say that they are vey happy they purchased and installed our product. Check out the customer testimal videos on our website to some of these REAL customers talking about their installation experience. You may be surprised to see who was able to complete this installation!
5) We have never had any customer provide us with any feedback that even hinted that a sharp edge from our track could ever be dangerous. And, we are NOT the only do-it yourself closet company to require that a steel track be cut as part of the installation.
Our product is a DIY or Do-It-Yourself product. For eleven years we have helped hundreds of thousands of customers design, purchase and install beautiful custom closets for a fraction of the price they would pay a local or franchise company to install the product.
