I Mrs. Krishti Sunil Dhanwani traveled to Dubai between 21st July 2021 and 14 August 2021 with my family for a holiday to visit your beautiful city and to spend some time with family and friends already living in Dubai. We were scheduled to return back to our city Douala (Cameroon) on 9th August 2021, since we were having a good time we decided to extend our stay a little longer. We have traveled to Dubai multiple times and are aware how particular Dubai is about its rules and regulations and we as tourists have always adhered to your rules. We tried to find out the cost for a visa extension. On finding out we got to know that we could stay in Dubai till 14th Aug 2021 at no additional cost. We verified this information on your E CHANNEL TWICE and even went to the Dubai airport and verified it with the immigration officer there. They all said that we would stay in Dubai till 14th August 2021 at no additional cost.

After verifying all the information we extended our trip and booked our tickets for 14 August 2021 (early morning flight). On 13 August 2021 after checking in our luggage when we went to the immigration counter, they told us to step aside from the immigration line and asked us to meet the police officer. Upon meeting the police officer he said that we had over stayed in Dubai by one day and we had to pay a fine. We were totally surprised as we had verified the details 3 times before doing the changes. The airport police offer was very rude and he did not want to listen to anything that we said, we had no option but to pay the fine and leave.

We were extremely disappointed by the treatment at the Dubai airport and by the information provided by your E CHANNEL. If we were provided with the right information we would have changed our plans accordingly. You can imagine we paid for our tickets extension so paying for Visa extension was not a problem for us at all since we have visited Dubai multiple times. This was not only embarrassing but also disappointing and of course it cost us an unnecessary fine of AED1476.

I urge you to refund our fine as we have supporting documents to show that we did our due diligence before agreeing to extend our stay. We have never been non-compliant with the Dubai rules and regulations and have never faced such humiliation from the airport authorities. I would also request you to provide us with some extra compensation for the humiliation we as a family had to go through at the airport.

Hope in future that noboby else should face what we went through.
