Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort review: Resort safety

I am writing to you from my room at Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort. I arrived here on November 1 for a five night stay for our daughter’s wedding. On November 2nd I slipped on a wet sidewalk and fell very hard. I had a very large hematoma and a swollen wrist and was taken to the ER where I spent $1500 on a CT scan. I refused further care due to the fact that the hospital did not work with my insurance. I opted to just make sure my head was okay before leaving. I have since then noticed my wrist is very bruised, bruises on other parts of my body and suffer from headaches.

I am writing this letter to you because I feel very concerned and angry about the safety situation at this resort. Many of our guest slipped on the surfaces at this resort. Some of them even fell. Many of them saw other people fall. The surface here is very slippery when wet and not safe. I literally took one step out onto the walkway and was down instantly.

I spent the rest of my entire vacation here scared of walking anywhere without holding onto my husband and afraid to go anywhere where my feet might get wet. Not a good situation in a resort on the beach with many pools or occasional rain showers. This was not a relaxing vacation to say the least.

I would not return to this resort nor could I recommend it to anyone based on what I feel is an unsafe environment. I am hoping that you will take this issue very seriously and look into the safety concerns here before someone gets hurt more seriously than I have been.

I was here to enjoy our daughter’s wedding day and instead spent my week afraid and in pain. Today we go home and I am hoping my injuries will continue to heal quickly and I can find some happy memories of her special day.
