Dr. Joel Hall @ Rapides Regional Physician Group review: Medical visit

On 9/8/22 I had a wellness visit. Before I saw the doctor I was told they would not accept my insurance b/c by the time my insurance paid, that Dr. Hall and Dr. Manuel would be in private practice and no longer in Rapides Regional Physician Group and Dr. Hall would not be able to be paid what was due to him. However, they would allow me to pay as private pay. I denied this b/c wellness exams are paid in full by my insurance and my appt. had been made by them for over a year ago, and I drove over an hour for the appt and no one advised me of this before then. I was then told that I could reschedule for a month so the Dr. could be paid by the insurance when he had his own account set up. I again denied this option and asked to speak to the Office manager who told the office ladies to pass this information to me. Office Manager, Ms. Laconda, refused to see me. I asked to speak with Dr. Hall and was told that Ms. Laconda would not allow that, and b/c I requested to see her and him, that they were denying to see me at all. I had my appt. for over a year and had scripts to be filled, and b/c the Physician Group would receive the money and not the doctor, nobody cared that I took off work, drove over an hour, was ready for my wellness exam, and what I was out. It was my understanding that Ms. Laconda decided on her own, at that moment, how my appointment would go. I was denied treatment at no fault of my own.
