Dr Charles Matthews is a psychopath who sexually abuses his female patients, and then intimidates them into keeping quiet, he has been doing this for many years and has hundreds of victims yet still gets away with it. Many of his colleagues are aware of his actions but are too afraid of him to step forward and report his gross misdeeds. He is a disgrace to the medical profession! Why do high ranking government officials who do less than he does get taken to court? Yet he continues to practice as a Dr and no one does anything. If there are any Doctors, Lawyers, and particularly victims of of Doctor Matthews who know of this and are prepared to help put him out of practice, then please speak up! Otherwise he will continue to ruin countless lives.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
In 2013 and 2014 whilst on holiday from Argentina, I consulted Dr Mathews, who treated me with acupuncture for a knee ailment. I have found Dr Mathews to be a highly professional practitioner, and any accusation against his professionalism is absurd.

In May 2011 Livid_12 brought charges of sexual assault against myself. These were initially withdrawn on a technicality, but subsequently were brought back on to the judicial roll. On the second day of cross examination the magistrate halted proceedings. He found that the accusations were so flawed with contradictions and inaccuracies that there was no substantial case against myself. In fact it was declared that there was no necessity to call me up for cross examination, the trial was halted, and the case dismissed.
Dr. Charles Matthews has been my general practitioner for some years now and I know as an honorable man with integrity and the accusations made by "angry_ann" (sic) and "Livid_12" are ludicrous. As Dr Matthews points out, the Health Professional Council of SA rejected the complaint out of hand as having no substance. And as far as Livid_12's accusations, which have subsequently been withdrawn, it is quite obvious that "angry_ann" has orchestrated this in order to get support for her ridiculous accusations.
With regard to the article by "Livid 12", the charges have been withdrawn. I am disappointed by the withdrawal. I wanted to prove before a court of law how utterly false and ludicrous the accusations are.
With regard to the first article------This was written by an ex secretary who left the practice under a cloud of financial impropriety and damaging gossip within the practice. She submitted a report to the Health Professional Council of SA. The HPCSA is known for believing it has a primary duty to protect the public against errant doctors, and the Council meets out harsh punishment to offenders. The complaint was rejected out of hand as having no substance.
Second article-------No comment will be made regarding this article. The matter is still sub-judice.
Third article-------Rod, these website publications have recently been brought to my attention. Thank you for your supportive comments. I would obviously like to comment in detail. But at the moment I am constrained in my public utterances. Suffice to say I am still trying to understand what is behind these exraordinary accusations. Within the next two months I intend commenting more freely. Meanwhile, if it were possible, it would be great to make contact with you
I believe I know Dr Matthews of old and find these accusations very difficult to believe. While in no way meaning to detract from what would definitely be serious and genuine concerns and accusations if they are true, it is easy to publish unsubstantiated claims on websites such as this. I wonder if any feedback could be given as to actual action taken against Dr Matthews or claims substantiated by proof or judicial process.
I have JUST come back from Dr Matthews after taking my wife in for a flu checkup. No checking temperature, ears, nose... nothing. All he did was spend 20 minutes touching her breasts. Not wanting to cause a scene, I kept quiet and chatted to my wife about it afterwards. She agreed that this was completely inappropriate behaviour.
Still feeling that there was something VERY wrong (and i wasn't overreacting) I googled his name and this post came up. I will be reporting him to the medical board and would appreciate anyone else that can back this up. There are young girls visiting this doctor!
