DISA is a company that does pre-employment screening and works with RTI and Refined Technology Solutions in the oil refinery industry. In April , I went to a DISA contracted preemployment center called CARE ONSITE in Long Beach, CA for a job with RTI. I also went to the BP contracted center, CONCENTRA in Burbank, CA for a job with BP in Oregon, OH. I went to both centers as scheduled by each company and had a total of 7 drug tests in a week, 6 of them in a 24 hour period. The tests included 3 urine tests, 2 mouth swabs, and 2 hair tests. BP Refinery used CONCENTRA in Burbank CA and they wouldn't take my hair sample because they said my hair was too short. DISA SITE was in LONG BEACH CA at CARE ONSITE and they did 2 urine tests, 2 hair swabs, and 2 hair sample tests. One hair sample was for BP Refinery and the other was for RTI with DISA. Even though I wasn't supposed to do the preemployment screening for RTI with DISA, I asked if I could do it while I was doing the BP testing. One of the urine samples at LONG BEACH CARE ONSITE came back positive, but the other 3 tests at CARE ONSITE and the 3 tests at CONCENTRA for BP all came back negative. I don't have an explanation for this, but I did all the follow-up testing, drug counseling, and therapy at my own expense. Now I'm in a random drug testing program for 12 months, in addition to random testing at work. I was offered 2 jobs, one with BP Refinery starting on 4/22 and one with RTI that was supposed to start on 4/20 but got pushed to June . The start date with RTI got pushed again. The job with RTI got taken away because DISA won't clear my name and says I had an incident. The incident isn't true and now my reputation is damaged and I can't work for RTI. Unless DISA clears my name, I can't work as a consultant at one oil refinery, Marathon. All the other refineries will let me work there. I contacted Marathon and they said I can apply directly, but they can't control what DISA tells them on behalf of RTI, so they can't let me work there as a consultant. This job is something I've been working towards for over 14 years. I've been in the military, a deputy sheriff, a battalion chief firefighter, an EMT, and in the oil refinery business for over 14 years. I've also been in the reserves and a commercial diver. I'm being held back because of something I can't explain and something that's not my fault. I want DISA to clear my name and not say I had an incident. The dates are 4/1 at CareOnsite (DISA Long Beach) with 2 hair tests, 1 swab, and a urine test. 3/31 at CONCENTRA BURBANK (BP Refinery urine test and swab) and 3/30 at Care Onsite (DISA Long Beach) urine test.
