CVS - Police was called after supervisor "power play" failed

apr 20, 2020 approx 0015 hrs at 240 Main Street Nashua, NH. Going
past the registers, a customer (woman) stood at the distance tape to ring out waiting for a cashier at the 3 vacant registers. I became involved as a customer called out "hello" and not knowing if I may be spoken to. The customer rang the bell not loud enough as I barely heard it about a foot further away. Ringing the bell, I did it multiple times, not knowing I was heard. I heard no response, but quickly encounterd a fast walking woman saying something about "... ring it once". I then heard her mumble part of something sarcastic, very close to my former Drill Sgt days) in my direction until I reminded her it would have been once if if we knew it was
heard and knew she was on her way. I cut off more interrupted sarcasm reminding her of expected level of demonstrated courtesy and professionalism not currently showing. She was silent as I discovered her performing other duties in an isle with another coworker (male) as I was searching for my items. I returned with my found item to cash out, tapped the ringer once, and returned
behind the carpet tape line to be called forward. I was 1 of 2 customers in the store at that time. Waiting, my eyes caught the unexpected reflective surface near a register. Approaching her, (center), I discovered all 3 now had a plastic shield centered where cashiers and customers normally interacted. I then looked closer
noticing some kind of observed "bank teller" window I was required to also observe; there was none as it was suspended and I could easily work under it. Some kind of tape along the bottom edge would have avoided issues. Observing the setup, the older woman had arrived asking "Would that be all today" as I said "Yes, I have it." She asked if I found everything", I said"Yes, I didn't
ask for help". Clearly defensive, her next comment was about her trying to not give me a hard time, I replied"then don't". Now searching for"one up", she then advised if I give her a hard time, she would refuse service. Ignoring her attempt to cause commotion, I ignored her threat and replied,"did you ring it up yet."She then informs me she wants to refuse service, then
wants me to leave or she will call the police AFTER she clearly didn't get the"bowing down"expected from her being the"store supervisor"in her position. I saw no name plate or any otherwise picture indications. Her display of conduct was more in line of a new hire vs the expected professional interaction commanding authority inherent of a supervisor regardless of a name plate and
title. As I have taught multiple managerial levels, her apparent demeanor suggests being in the process of large task and wanted to avoid distractions. The customer is never a distraction, as additional duties are not concern to be transferred to a customer. She informs me she is refusing service as her hurried tone ended my transaction, spun around and threw my item into the top of a stacked baskets against a wall. She was clearly rushing returning to a prior task of no concern to any customer. After I wanted a printout of the store contact information and her name, she then announces threatening to call the police (without cause prior to the event), as my tone had clearly indicated not being intimidated. I told her to do so and I would wait for the arrival. She called and I
waited for their arrival. She ensured her mask was up in her conversation with me, but pulled it down to speak over the phone at a closer distance. Her priorities are off more that the lacking professionalism in her conduct. She mumbled her name whereby she also failed to point to anything where it was displayed. I later learned she could have pointed to the sign on the store exterior wall for her name and store number. The store has been rebuilt
about 3 years back as I don't use it often enough to become
familiar with its various elements not normally requested. I have been ensured to encounter this pattern of conduct as I have also been to this location during other hours while wearing various military attire and resting badgering. As it is entertaining, my periodic attire is not offend me with comments attempting to"play Drill Sgt", as I did it for 4 years over my 30 year career. I am constantly engaged in expectations encountering offensive activities regardless of my military service attire. I have finally encountered a similar environment from a SUPERVISOR exhibiting badgering commentary I would never accept from new employees. As a result of"getting HER WAY", her tantrum has resulted in
informing the responding police I can not use that store location for a 1 year period of time. I was also advised she informed the police I could make use of other stores. The RIGHT answer is not"use another CVS down the street". It should have never"use another store"unless it is a message to the entire public vs a particular customer not tolerating badgering comments and having no further authorities to fall back upon. This is a clear case of a failed attempt to cause turbulence, then play the"victim"card, through denied service and call to police, after their posture crap did not work. The reconstructed building sets on a larger footprint in the same location. New buildings often attract new staff eager to"chest pound"to establish area dominance. For the military inclined, it is like a new platoon of basic recruits attempting to establish a"pecking order".in ALL of your store locations, the order is simple. Without the customer your store does not exist.
