County Imports - No call backs, no warranty assistance

I purchase a Roadmaster 250CC Motor Scooter from County Imorts in May 2009. I received the bike two weeks after it was to be delivered, but it did show up.

Once I had the bike in my possession I ran into several issue, one being that it wasn't even a "Roadmaster" but was actually a "Rocketta 250". I learned this when I tried to get the appropriate documents established to get my tag and title.

Further, I received two additional model makes for the same VIN number. On my insurance it is called a BMS Machoman, and on my title it is a Bene 250.

This really concerned me. I finally got through to someone in the papers department because the documentation was not correct, which in turn, put me beyond my 30 days of purchase and I had to pay a fine.

The bike itself was running great. About two weeks after riding, I noticed small coolant leak form below the bike. I was calling and emailing County Imports about warranty issues, but was unable to get any response other than some automated warrantly claim for that required me fill in the parts I needed. Of course, not being a mechanic and not knowing what to do, I kept calling.

About a month after that, the stereo on the bike shorted out at the control panel, which made the on/off function not work. The stereo would turn on and off by itself, and the volume would blare on it's own at any given time.

I again, just wanted to replace the panel, and again, I could not get anyone on the phone, or anything other than an auto response from a warranty claim form.

Still the bike ran well until July when the gasket to the coolant line went and the sensor for the coolant fan failed.

No one wanted to work on the bike. I could not get a single service department to work on it. I found a small shop and they took on the project.

While my bike was there, two more of the exact same model came along with various issues. The amazing coincidence was that all the bikes had a little over 1200 miles on them.

I found a company in California, BMS, that could get me parts, but it took a while.

Since then, the scooter has been in the shop and the mechanic unable to fix the issue. Every time he fixes one thing, something else fails.

Now I have oil pouring out of the block and I can not drive it. It looks nice, but that's about it. The shop that was trying to assist me has said they will never accept any Rocketta product at their shop, and are now not calling me back.

I still can get no answers from County Imports. It is now September and I have no transportation since July.

Keep in mind. I have babied this scooter because I need the transportation desperately. I have changed the oil using only oil specifically for scooters every 500 miles. I only use coolant rated for scooters, and even took the liberty of changing the gearbox oil at 1000 miles.

Yet here I am, out $2000 dollars for the scooter, and well of $500 in repairs. What can I do? I am helpless!

I read a report on the Rocketta scooters and found out they were mass produced in China using cheap parts and materials.

Do not purchase from this company. They are crooks!
