Complaint against Coral Sands Resort, Hilton Head, SC
Our horror story began in November 2014… at the same time lawsuits were being brought against this company. We went on the tour with a lady who sold us:
Island Links Unit 148 TriY Week 46 for the sum of $9,000, Closing on 11/23/2014.
In 2016, we had called because we weren’t able to use the timeshare. They invited us back and when we arrived, they had someone there from the complaints area. He told us he didn’t talk with customers unless there had been a complaint, so we spilled the beans on not being able to use the timeshare.
He then told us that we had been sold something we couldn’t use because the points were so low. He then proceeded to tell us we would have to increase our points in order to have something we could really use and that that lady was no longer working there. I should have smelled a rat then and got rid of the timeshare, because they were clearly at fault. But I was so trusting that he was trying to help us that I was suckered in… to the tune of another $9,525.
Trusting me… Now it says that we own: Coral Sands Unit M305 Even week 39.
Now we haven’t used it but one time and we last year got billed over $1000 and I was a just beyond the date in paying it and now I understand that it will be about $500 just to reinstate it. Now we are in this timeshare to the tune of over $20,000. I know these are not the ways those of us stupid enough to believe them should be treated. What can I do?
I need help!
Desired outcome: Out of the timeshare, and some of the money back that they squeezed out of us with the talking over our heads on the second trip when they basically told us they had sold us something we couldn't use.
