Cook Portable Warehouses I sent my last payment through the bank on Dec 16, 2021

I sent my last payment through the bank on Dec 16, 2021. After a whole month, I called Cook to find out why it hadn't been cleared. I called the bank and put a stop payment on Jan 16, 2022. Then, on Jan 18, I called Cook and paid $504 over the phone, which was the remaining balance after deducting the $150 security deposit. On the same day, Jan 18, the bill pay check I had sent in December also cleared for $767.39. On Jan 19, I called Cook again and asked for a refund for the overpayment. They said they would mail the payment, but I haven't received any communication from Cook through email or phone.

Cook Portable Warehouses On 5/21, I bought 2 CUSTOM sheds from Cook's Portable sheds

On 5/21, I bought 2 CUSTOM sheds from Cook's Portable sheds. They didn't come as I ordered (and were 8 weeks late). One shed had the door on the wrong side, and the other shed came with a 70 inch door when we paid $395 for an 80 inch door. I'm really unhappy with Cook's. I tried to talk to *** in customer service for a solution, but she sent my problem to someone in management who didn't contact me. It's been 8 weeks since we got the sheds, and there's still no solution. I hope ComplaintsBoard.com can help me get back my lost $395 and my pride after being "taken" by Cook's Portable Warehouse. Thanks for any help in this matter.

Cook Portable Warehouses We bought a shed from this company

We bought a shed from this company. We had problems with the door, which arrived broken. We tried multiple times to get them to fix it, but no luck. We made several payments to them, but the door issue was never resolved. Eventually, we had enough and told them to come and take the shed back. Months went by, and all we got were late notices and warnings about repossession. We called them again and insisted that they come and get the shed. Now, a collection agency is after me, claiming that I owe $669. They made it seem like they were repossessing the shed, so I can't dispute the debt. It feels like fraud. They still have the shed, and I don't owe them anything.

Cook Portable Warehouses On 11/11, I ordered a new Cook shed 6x12 from Cook Portable Warehouses

On 11/11, I ordered a new Cook shed 6x12 from Cook Portable Warehouses. I made it clear to Megan that I was purchasing a new house and that the shed should not be delivered before the closing date, which was on 1/29. Megan took note of this and informed Josh, the dispatch guy.

On 1/4, I reached out to Megan again to remind her about the delivery date restriction. She responded by saying that I needed to inquire with Josh.

Then, on 1/12, I received an email from Josh stating that the delivery was scheduled for 1/25. I informed him that I couldn't accept the shed until after the 29th. Unfortunately, he informed me that there was nothing they could do and that the shed would be left at their facilities in Panama City by the 25th. They would coordinate the delivery at a later date.

However, it has now been 8 weeks and my shed still hasn't been delivered. They are refusing to deliver it. This is a problem for me because I can't purchase another shed, as this was the only one approved by the HOA. As a result, I will have to hire a shed delivery person who will charge me $495 for delivery and installation. If they can deliver the shed this week or adjust the price to cover the cost of the delivery I'll have to pay, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cook Portable Warehouses Cook's portable warehouse made an agreement with me to pay a certain amount of money each month

Cook's portable warehouse made an agreement with me to pay a certain amount of money each month. However, after a couple of payments, I went through some hard times and couldn't pay. As a result, they repossessed the shed I purchased from them, along with all my belongings inside. They told me that once I paid off the balance by September 3rd, they would provide me with the information to retrieve my items. However, they never did. I've been calling them all week, but they haven't responded. Additionally, they continue to charge my debit card for an account that is already closed and paid off. I already paid the amount they told me to in order to get my shed items back, but they keep charging me and even took an extra hundred dollars. They are still running my debit card, despite my request for them not to. So basically, they are taking my money and not returning my items. This is really bad business. Yes, I had an issue, and I tried to resolve it with them, but their manager was unprofessional and rude to me.

Cook Portable Warehouses We bought a shed from Cooks in 2018, paid cash to avoid overpaying

We bought a shed from Cooks in 2018, paid cash to avoid overpaying. In May , we noticed some shingles on the ground. We reached out to their warranty and service department on June 17, and sent them pictures and descriptions of the damage. After several attempts, we received a call from their service person, Josh, who said he would schedule someone to come and repair the shed by replacing all the shingles. Weeks passed, and despite several calls, nothing happened. They kept making excuses about being understaffed due to COVID. Finally, on August 18, someone called and said they would come to fix the shed on Wednesday, August 28, between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. It's now Friday, August 28, and nobody came to fix the shed! I keep calling, but nobody answers. They had no problem taking our money right away, but they're not honoring the 10-year warranty on the product. I will never recommend these people; they're unprofessional and dishonorable.

Cook Portable Warehouses I was 'sposed to have a 10x 24 shed delivered to my house on Monday December 6

I was 'sposed to have a 10x 24 shed delivered to my house on Monday December 6. 'Fore the shed was to be delivered I was advised to move any potential obstacles outta the way. So I cut down part of my tree, moved a car outta the way and also removed 4 panels of my fencing to make enough room for the shed. The driver came and proceeded to put the shed in the backyard, durin' this process he became belligerent and started cursin' sayin' he can’t deliver the shed. Mind you the shed was halfway in the backyard when he became irate. He and my fiancé got into words 'cause of the drivers unprofessional behavior and then the driver said he’s no longer deliverin' the shed and he’s takin' it back. My fiancé said that that is unacceptable. And more words was said and my fiancé put his truck at the end of the driveway until we could get a hold of a supervisor to help with the problem of the driver. The supervisor was highly uneffective and of no help. The driver proceeded to take the shed outta the backyard and put it on the truck. The supervisor *** called back and said that they could have someone else deliver the shed. At that point I told I no longer want the shed 'cause of the way I was treated and I want my deposit back. He laughed at me and said that I will not be gettin' my deposit back. So not only was I treated rudely by cook sheds delivery person, I have no shed and cook sheds stole my deposit money.

Cook Portable Warehouses I contactd Cook Warehouse to move a shed they built and located in Rincon, GA

I contactd Cook Warehouse to move a shed they built and located in Rincon, GA. They are the only ones with the equipment to move this 12x32 shed due to their specs. Early June I spoke with *** at Hdqtrs who advised it would be at least two months before they could move it. I accepted that. September 10, *** in dispatch called advising he could move it Sept 23rd. He accepted my deposit. The driver called after the appointed time to say he had a flat tire. Later I found out that he told the woman who had the shed on her property that he couldn't pick as agreed because he had to move other "new" sheds that day or he would not get paid. So we were left high and dry as he wouldn't make as much relocating our shed and a new one. *** in dispatch says that he cannot advise if and when they can move it. He couldn't even get an alternative mover. How can they sell sheds and not have movers! Why would a relocation be bumped to accommodate a new customer? The only way I will be satisfied before I go to an attorney bringing them here to Florida where the payment was made from, is for them to move as originally agreed. I have spend a vast sum of money hiring people to prep the lot, move the items from the shed, and have traveled from south Florida to SC to be there at the move. You cannot reach a corporate manager as they hide behind voice mail. I have spoken to a number of other owners who have had the same problem with Cooks. Bottom line. They move it or it will be expensive defending themselves in a south Florida court.

Cook Portable Warehouses My complaint is because I rented to own a garage unit from a dealer in Ocala

My complaint is because I rented to own a garage unit from a dealer in Ocala. I made the down payment of $500 in May '21. The gate unit was supposed to be "ready" in August. I told them to come in September '21, and they did. However, when I saw the garage unit, it was only 2/4 inches above the ground at the dealer's place. But when I received it, it was 10 inches above the ground. I asked them if they brought a ramp to complete the garage unit, and they said, "No, we don't provide a ramp." Excuse me? It's a garage unit, and I assumed it would either go underground or come with a ramp. I didn't ask for it to come with a ramp. Okay, I accepted to make a ramp. The front plate with wood broke in some parts, and the inside floor had stains in some areas, like it wasn't brand new. The dealer manager was nice at first, but then he didn't answer me properly. Plus, I have to pay for returning it, moving it, and so on. The repair team came to fix it, but nothing was fixed. I called repair customer service and explained the whole situation. They told me they would come again to fix everything soon in October '21. They set a date to come on December 3rd. I'm tired of how bad this has been. I will return the garage unit, which is 12x24 feet. I will return it. The contract says that if I return it, there will be a charge of $340, like a fee. All this time, I couldn't use the garage unit as a garage. It's not worth it, considering everything that has happened, and I don't want to pay anything more. Plus, if I can have my down payment back, I would appreciate it because it was never like Liza, the seller, told me. I have proof of everything: pictures, emails, contract, promises, etc.

Cook Portable Warehouses Long story short

Long story short... I ordered a shed that was built to order and after a delay due to covid the shed was delivered. There were issues with the delivery as they did not conduct a proper site check nor communicate what would be necessary for them to deliver the shed except for width and height clearance requirements. At 4pm the day before delivery I received a phone call from the delivery driver who informed me he was on my property and proceeded to tell me I would have to go buy 10 cement blocks for them to level the building on. Because of covid, stores were closing earlier and because I currently drive a sedan I would need my girlfriend's Jeep to get the blocks which meant we had approximately an hour and a half to leave work and buy cements blocks to be ready for the delivery in the morning. Because of rain over night the delivery had to be rescheduled, so we left work earlier to accommodate for something last minute for no reason. The next week the delivery came with no weather issues, however, the delivery driver was rude and insulted me using some profanity when I was asking him to clarify their process of leveling on cement blocks. He also ended up using 14 cement blocks so the information he provided last minute the previous week was also inadequate and it was a good thing we had bought extra. He did not do a walk through to show me the interior of the shed and prior to purchase I was not provided a copy of the lease which the driver only handed me after delivering and leveling the building, and having me "sign for delivery". The sales person specifically said these buildings are built to be sealed from the outside so that insects and humidity can not penetrate and this makes their buildings good for all sorts of things including storage, extra office space, and why they can offer warranty on the quality of the lumber against fungal rot, etc. The building I received is anything but that, but because of my own covid related delays with work it was a few weeks before I had a good look at the shed to realize this. However, the longer I looked at the shed the more issues I found. The shed is built with inferior quality lumber. Warped and split trim and 2x4's were used in addition to plywood in the roofing that has a boot sized hole punch in it but covered with shingles anyway. ALL FOUR CORNERS of the framing are made with warped 2x4's and have 1/4'-1+' gaps allowing daylight and everything else in with it. I have photographically documented 70+ points of defective/careless workmanship including the lumber quality, framing issues, roof trusses, the drip edge, door hanging, insects, etc. I attempted to contact customer service and left several voicemails. After a week I was finally able to file my complaint with customer service, however, it has taken dozens of phone calls and emails disputing with them over several weeks for them to acknowledge the workmanship defects. At every point of the process of filing my complaint with them and when directed through to speak with the next representative I have had to leave 3 voicemails each time with each representative before receiving a call back only to then have to follow up with several emails to reassert my complaints with the quality of the shed. They then attempted to schedule repairs despite my telling them I would not schedule the repairs with them until they could guarantee the repairs will provide me the quality building I was promised, the product they were claiming to sell. I told them if they could not guarantee me the product I was promised I would need a refund. Despite my providing them with more than 30 photos as a summary of the issues they could not tell me what repairs were put on the work order they created nor would they guarantee the anticipated repairs to be sufficient. I consulted with other contractors who informed me the repairs would take about 3 days and cost several thousand dollars because of labor. I can not afford to take 3 days away from my work to watch a crew rebuild a shed that was supposed to be brand new and built to order in a "quality controlled environment" as they advertise. They sent a crew with a repair work order anyway. Since they previously wouldn't guarantee the repairs because they had not seen the shed in person I decided to go ahead and let them look at it themselves. When the repair crew was done looking and left I got a phone call from Cook rep saying 'my guys were at your house ready to work but said you wouldn't let them, and why wouldn't I let them do the repairs?' However, that's not what happened and although I had already explained to this individual and others several times over the phone and via email that I'm not going to sign a work order without a guarantee I'd get the product that was promised to me I explained it to him again. Despite them having now seen 30+ photos and seen the shed in person they have not offered any guarantee to the quality of the repairs. Because of this, I have had a lawyer send a letter to them to request they provide a brand new building that meets the standards they advertise or issue a full refund of all monies paid to them by me, that they retrieve the building at their own expense, and that they respond to said letter within 14 days of the date on the letter. The date on the letter is 08/28. They have not responded to the letter nor have they attempted to contact me again. I am completely dissatisfied in my experience with Cook Portable Warehouses. The product is defective despite their claims of producing said building in a quality controlled environment and despite their "workmanship guarantee." Their "customer service" has been difficult, despite the signage saying they were rated #1 in customer service, and this has created a significant amount of frustration without any resolution. Part of why I chose a prefabricated shed from Cook Portable Warehouses is that it was supposed to be a simple purchase which would save me the time and work of building my own shed and the salesperson convinced me it was a quality product. However, the lack of response in addressing these issues and the lack responsibility of Cook Portable Warehouses for the product they produced is absolutely unacceptable. The sum of my experience with Cook Portable Warehouses has been an infuriating and growing waste of time. I have been open and forward about these issues and given Cook Portable Warehouses ample documentation of the issues and time to address these issues. Now, after more than two months since I first contacted them with these issues and exactly two months today(09/30) from when I provided them the first set of photos documenting the defects and now one month after having a lawyer send a written request for resolution Cook Portable Warehouses has yet to correct their failures. In the amount of time I have spent trying to get this issue resolved I could have built my own shed. Had I been given the option to cancel the build order when their production facility shut down at the beginning of covid I would have done so and made other arrangements. Cook Portable Warehouses has failed to deliver the product and service they advertise and promised. They have been disrespectful and unresponsive. I want this experience to be over. I want a full refund of my deposit and monthly payments, a total of $1,418.24.
