A nice and neat scam selling repackaged parfumes. Quite clever if you ask me. Oh by the way if you are near the address check out the creepy office location. As for names this company was headed by Brian Warner go ahead check face book only 1 pic no post but ton of friends looks like there way to keep in contact. He was caught doing this in 2009 by and Internet scam guy who goes around finding and disrupting scams. As the host nick names him bozo. BEWARE

He drives a nice big black truck with lots of chrome 4 doors.
Usually seen with Ericka his business partner.

It was in the early 90s that this scam had sunk it's teeth in me. I was 19 and looking for a managerial position or a way to work up to a manager position at that time. The add on the "Pennysaver" In Los Angeles said just that, " become a manager in just a few weeks of training". I was naïve then and was looking for the fastest way to become something more important than where I was. When I found Scentura I had been working as a maintenance person for a phone survey company that was near where I lived. After the 2nd interview which seemed to have been just the same as the 1st one with the same person saying " are you ready to try something new and exciting?" I can't remember exactly but in these interviews they had this qualifying checklist that they asked about, and in each interview they always had 2 people, they asked about these qualities and if I believe I have them and I just nodded and said sure. The other person in the room sat straight up and said, " I excel at every one of those qualities and I can show you." Although it struck me odd that this person said this, it made me question myself as to why I didn't show that kind of confidence in myself being that I wanted to become a manager. The same day of the 2nd interview they had us come in for "training", there was music playing and a bunch of chairs laid out for everyone. Once the lectures started the lecture they handed out note pads and pencils to everyone, and they were hardcore on making sure everyone took notes, like super hard core about it. A lot of the 1st day of lecturing was about personal strengths and attitude, the speaker had this montage that he would have people yell " ATTITUDE CHECK! " and it was told that everyone should scream and cheer every time some one random would yell that out. The 2nd day the "training" was basically about how to sell and to random people, they would have their "seasoned sales reps" teach people how to walk up to strangers and give them the Scentura sales pitch which was really short and to the point. Now the reason why this is a scam is that the whole time in "training" which they don't pay you for, they do not tell you they will be giving you a box of fake perfume and that you're going out on the streets to sell it to random people, actually you don't really get a real explanation of what the company is or does until you are walking out of your second day of brainwashing and you pick up your box of fake perfume. I was mortified as soon as I realized I had been frauded and convinced to leave my original job for a panhandlers job. When I was walking out, I heard a family of people start complaining about all of the " training " just to send people out into the streets to sell fake perfume. I walked up besides them and joined them in their argument because I agreed, I had befriended them even and have known them now for 20 years so something good came out of it at least. Training someone to send them out on the street with a box of fake products is not a business opportunity, anyone anywhere can buy things and go out into the streets and sell things, you don't need to be trained for to full days to do something like that. If you ever are walking into a company that is vague about who they are, what they pay and what they do just turn around and leave. The headaches you will save yourself will be enormous, I think about this place every time a "mult-level management" company tries to hook me in, I unleash with knowledge on these [censored] now... Hard lesson learned, but I learned never to do it again.

So, basically what you are saying is, you wasn’t cut out to be an executive owner or have the gift of gab to have your own distribution office of your own! Don’t say it’s a scam, when you clearly didn’t ask the right questions during the interview! I worked for this company for 3 years, highly successful, it parlayed me into even bigger success as a regional manager for a Fortune 500 company! Don’t say the company is a scam, you wasn’t cut out to be a sales person, you don’t have the ability to connect with people to make that sale!

Man this is a scam and always been a scam. He was absolutely right about everything he said. Because that's pretty much how my interview went some yearsssss ago. You pretty much get duped into this company to go out and sell knock off perfumes. The perfumes were fake as can be. Like come on the perfumes bottles to the box is was kept in look flimsy, cheap, and fake. Like I don't know why everyone that worked for this company that did highly successful, (And that's ok, IT WORKED FOR YOU) get mad at people that choose not to work for this company that dupe you into selling knockoffs out in public. With this long thirsty pitch, you don't get paid at all, Not even for training! It was a hot ghetto mess! That they expect you to sell fake perfumes on the streets, and don't get paid at all. Never got handed a real check, all my selling in Harlem NY went to managers and people over them. Thank God they gave us metro cards, because that would be bizarre! To work for fake knockoffs and don't get paid and have to pay your transportation every day! Always talking about your own office, What office? The streets was the office! I should have been like this person, leave right away. Instead I played myself and went out with them for more than a month and no pay! And I sold perfume bottles too! So you tell me, what's not fraud about this company? BBB knows this company is fraud and is very scamish! So stop with the crap!

Sorry pal, anyone who speaks and types the way you do isn't working for a legit, respectable company. "You wasn't cut out for...". Good God man, I can see you sitting on your pick up truck tailgate cleaning your ears with your key! I got sucked in to this nonsense back in the mid 90s as well. Fell for the ol' "sounds too good to be true" routine... that's cuz it was! Got chased out of more stores by owners and cops than I care to remember! It's a pyramid scam, plain and simple. Buddy gives you a box of perfume bottles "on consignment", so no money down. Sell them for whatever price you want, although a fixed number is suggested. At the end of the day, you owe buddy "X" amount for each bottle sold. So you sell a bottle for $30, you gotta pay your supplier $25. Great, you made a whopping 5 BUCKS! HE/SHE gets $25 from your sweating it out on the streets while they sit on their *** doing nothing! And their $25? Oh they're paying their cut too. This is your version of a legit "fortune 500" business? Hey, if you claim you have the gift of gab and can sell a ketchup popsicle to a lady in white gloves, good for you. That doesn't make this company legit! If you're that good at sales, why would you choose to sell bs perfume on the streets for pennies, while making some other person(s) rich? Was it the no pay or the no benefits that really drew you in? Dude, please...

You must be lazy. Becouse if you were smart you would have stayed and learned work Ethics. You are like all the other lazy people that thought you could just show up and get a pay check. Running a business and being the owner means you have to be able to work harder and stay longer then everyone else. It's a Frame of mind one would have to have to be successful ,and Apparently you don't have the Mentality to anything but want to show up and get a pay check. If you were smart you would have used the training for a Vehicle to move you to the next stage in your life. My bet is your still working by the hour some where. Or maybe Unemployed. Or just Broke. For me I took full advantage of the program, and am retired and doing what ever I wish and Financially stable with investments. And there is nothing I can't handle. And the reason you call it a scam is your excuse for being lazy and Incapable of handling Situations under pressure. Another word you're a loser..

I can't believe how people rush to the defense of this pseudo-pyramid scheme. They are either willfully blind or have no moral compass.

Designers International, xxx Management, Blah-Blah Wholesale, whatever incarnation it is at any given moment, are all connected to either Scentura or World Perfume. Their recruiting practices are misleading, dishonest and unethical. People considering this "opportunity" - please read the negative comments here and on other complaint sites. I cannot vouch for individual experiences and unique horror stories, but be assured that the "business model" is always the same.

The defenders of this scheme always try to emphasize that this is a "business opportunity". I have yet to see a single one of their ubiquitous "Management Trainee" classified ads state this in print.

The defenders of this scheme always state that "it's not for everyone". Yeah, anyone who wants to sleep at night and pay their bills honestly.

The whole system is based on lies. The recruits are lied to and misled before they even walk in the door. They are then trained to lie to prospective customers. If they lie long enough and well enough, they get to open their own office, become a Chief Liar and
perpetuate the scam.

The defenders of the system insist that it's not a pyramid scheme. Bull. Sure, the recruits don't directly shell out money up front, but what about the fuel spent driving around during "training" for 6-8+ weeks? What about the initial "practice" sales to friends, family, etc?

The fact is that this system requires a constant influx of new recruits to replace the bright ones who leave almost immediately. In fact, if it weren't for the "new blood" continually coming into the office, it would close. This is the definition of a pyramid scheme and was found to be such: "In 2001, the Illinois Appellate Court ruled that the contract between Scentura and Long (office owner) was a "pyramid sales scheme", violated the law and was unenforceable under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act."

The year is 2014. I put up with 2 days of this ### back in 1990. It’s still going on. Rob & Ricki Zuckert were the owners of the Illinois office I blundered into. They move around the country quite a bit, it seems - currently in Texas. If you had a successful business, with a quality product and an effective sales force why would it be necessary to move several hundred miles from your previous location every 2-3 years?

Job-seekers, do yourselves a favor and run from this “opportunity”.

Defenders of the Scam, please don’t attack someone who is trying to save others from grief and disappointment. Besides, if I can identify you and you’re anywhere within 100 miles of my location I’ll come drag you out of your respective parents' basements and kick your ###.

I noticed about a year ago, a new Scentura office opened in my area. On their facebook page, they proudly showed videos of themselves getting the keys to their new business and signing their leases. I checked earlier today and they have already shut down, lol. They didn't even make it a year. Their facebook page linked to other locations and those too are gone. Generally, I would feel bad for someone losing their business but not in this case!

This company is a recruiting office for Scentura Creations sales people. I made it to the first and second interview because the company seemed to be legitimate, and I was really desperate for a job. After the first day of training, I began to question the company and the product that it sells, the people that it employs, and the methods that are used to market the "product". The company has no awards except the onces that are "in-house", (i.e.: "21-club, 100-club, ect.), and they seemed to be EXTREMELY unprofessional in daily operations. (i.e.: loud music blaring in the office, using the term "Who's your ###?" as a closing to a phone call and the amount of "banter" during such phone calls, the manner in which the vast majority of the employees present themselves, wearing cut-off shirts, revealing clothing, suggestive clothing, items along those lines. The thing that stuck out to me was the fact that I had to use my own personal transportation to sell someone elses product with no reembursment for fuel costs, toll booth costs, ect. I was told that I was going to be making around $2-300 dollars a week, but that turned out to be a lie. The first week, I spent roughly $40 in fuel costs, sold 7 bottles of the product, and only made $10 dollars profit. The simple fact that the "manager" of the office literally threatened me that if I took off with his product, a legal nightmare would ensue was another red flag to me. I spent 4 days dodging cops and security guards and avoiding being arrested and cited for solicitation just to earn nothing and come back the next day and do it again. I feel horrible about the the fact that this scam is so well "sugar-coated" and rehursed the most people have no idea what's going on. The simple fact that I was not employed "on the books" could leave me open the horrible legal repercussions in the event that I got arrested for selling this garbage was enough for me to not want to "work" for this "business" anymore. For example, If I was areested for soliciting without a permit, the "company" could destroy any record of the "product" that I have on consignment, tell them it was stolen, and since there is no record of me being employed with the company, they would not even be obligated to help me. And after further internet research, calling this a scam in inevitable. Someone needs to shut these people down. For good.

They posted a job on craigslist.org which stated that they were looking for 18 to 25 people to fill two positions, manager and administrative assistant. I went in for an interview and was asked to complete a second interview then and there, I was really excited because during my interiew, Damon made the companysound great. He made promises of a 40k yearly salary, running my own office and working for a great company where there was endless possibilites. Training they said was supposed to be from 6 to 8 weeks, but we could speed up the training and finish it in about 2-4 weeks. Training was NOT paid and they made is seem that training was going to be in a classroom setting where we would be learning about the product and learning how to run our own office for when we were placed into it. On my third day of training, I was placed in one of six cars with three other girls and was driven to a gas station and Wal-mart parking lot where we were supposed to sell the perfume. This is also known as SOLICITING! We weren't getting paid to do this and there was also a quota that we were supposed to meet. the first day it was two bottles and it would go up from there.

These people feed you false hopes and dreams and make you think you are getting into something that will change your lfe, when in reality your running this risk of falling behind on all your bills and getting sent to jail for soliciting.

Well scentura creations is a distribution company in Atl, Ga which wholesales fake perfume/cologne to companies I worked for the company in New Orleans off of clearview owned by Alexis, Pat, Jenn and A previous owner Nick. They don't explain to u why your their in the beginning until Monday they have something call FFAAR EXERCISE YOU go home to sell cologne/perfume to your family and friends and on Tuesday u come back to be trained they will call it your O day aka O *** day .. then your training will consist of u going in the streets :gas station's, walmart parking lot, etc...going up to people sayin hey may I ask u a question what kinda cologne do u where ? basically we where perfume pimps selling fake cologne out of our the truck of our car thats what a 8hrs shift consists of (with-in that day u might get put out of agas station or they may call the cops and some cases go to jail for solicitation on private property ) They brain wash u of course thinking this is the only way to own your own business I didnt understand how u can be with a company for 2 years plus and not even have a car owners where living together and car pooling. They make u drive you car around with strangers that u just met and when it breaks down they dont repair any of it.you sell the cologne in the street for $25 the $20 goes to them and you keep the 5 so u will make the 5 or however my you sell the bottle for the bottles are all shape the same clear glass black top. Just to clearify things. Brian Warner is the most honest and straight forward business owner you could possibly ask for. Everything we do is by the books. We do not lie, steal or lead people on because its a waste of time. You and your business partner abviously NOT on the same page. You guys did your own thing and took advantage of your own people that is why your in a position that your in. So please don't accuse Brian Warner for sexual assaults or for molesting you for you are pregrant by your boyfriend who is also your business partner. People who understand the business and works hard will get their own office like I have and has been for 6 years now. We never charge or ask anyone for money, EVER! So again, when does this become a scam? Its when owners like you blaming the company for the mistakes you made and got caught!

so ashamed on you for being that ownermed your own people who deserves the opportunity.

and did not go by the rules

I am a new owner for an office located in Michigan, the opportunity is not a scam its the people running the locations that make it a scam. its to bad that they just allow anyone to run a location as long as they make it through the training. I have concerns about the office, when does this become a scam? Is it a scam when your partner starts charging a 40 dollar back ground check fee when he's not using it for that? He actually takes it and goes to play poker with it. He's big on poker and plays every night. Is it a concern when he starts kiting the money because he's spent it? I'm just finding it difficult to convince new hires this isn't a scam when my partner is scamming people. This is supposed to be a free opportunity given by Larry in exchange for hard work, to help people like me start a business. When you have a promoting owner who sexually assaults you then refuses to aid you when there is trouble, that makes it a scam. Its to bad that these independent business owners have made this a hard to believe opportunity for us. And me, someone that went through 4 months of training and moved all of the oi alone for my office is pushed out by a ### partner and a molesting promoting owner because I'm not willing to steal money or lie for the books. Your told that its free no money out of your own pocket EVER. If this is the case then why have I had to give 500 dollars out of my own pocket for this business and why do our new hires have to pay 40 to start? When asked about the 40$ my partner told me he had the go ahead from Brian Warner my promoting owner. Its hard to believe there is no scam when I can see it myself. And they won't give you the numbers to the higher UPS because they say they don't want to be bothered by a nobody. I haven't earned my right to seek advice from Larry or Kerry Brunson. So again, when does this become a scam?

Mr. Brunson, I am glad there is so much negativity going around about this company. Yesterday, on my lunch break I was approached by someone selling this stuff. When I said I wasn't interested, I was sprayed in the face!

Needless to say, the whole operation is a scam. I would tell anyone to run and not do this.

Phoenix Management is for real. For every person on here saying it's BS, there's someone else out there taking advantage of the opportunity.

The training program is awesome, it's a proven business model, and it's way more fun than any company I've ever worked with.

I don't understand how people can call this a scam - when do they ever ask you for any money?

You just work hard in training, and once you're done, you get a chance to run your own deal!

Where else do you find something like that?

I would like to know if someone who sells your perfume and gets a solicitation ticket, does the company pay for that or is it the responsibility of the seller? My son has gotten two tickets already as was informed by this company that they will pay for the ticket after he goes to court. Is this true or not. I think this is a scam and i feel your company needs to be shut down by the better business bureau as you are selling water down perfume.

Unfortunately, it seems there’s a lot of negativity and false information circulating the internet regarding Scentura, and I think it’s based mostly on people’s misunderstanding of the Scentura Opportunity. I thought I’d post something brief that would help make things clear.

First of all, Scentura Creations is a manufacturer and supplier of rendition fragrances. They distribute their product line to Independent Wholesale Business owners throughout the U.S. They’re unique in that they provide merchandise without any capital outlay to these Independent Wholesale Distributors, meaning they don’t pay Scentura until after they’ve sold the merchandise. This is key because it removes a huge barrier of entry into business… Inventory costs.

Second, the sales model used by most independent businesses that sell Scentura’s products is that of Direct Selling. It’s a business to business, face-to-face sales strategy that has worked for over 35 years. It’s not glamorous, and it’s probably not for everyone, but it just works.

Last, and most importantly, Scentura doesn't ask you to invest any money, it's not a franchise, it's not a pyramid or multi-level marketing business, there's nothing to purchase, there are no sign-up fees. The only thing required from you is your time and hard work, and you’ll get a chance to run your own business. How many companies out there are willing to offer that?

It probably sounds too good to be true, but it makes sense when you understand Scentura's incentive: It's a Win-Win scenario for everyone. You get a chance to own your own business, and Scentura gains a new customer, which means more volume. If Scentura only dealt with individuals who had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest, they'd be waiting a long time, especially in this economy. So they're willing to take all the financial risk.

Again, this is not for everyone, but the opportunity is definitely real, and many owners have gone on to make six-figure incomes running their own businesses that sell Scentura's products.

This exact thing happened to me too. I found an ad on craigslist for a company looking for managers and customer service people and no experience necessary. I called and they immidiately scheduled an interview for the same day. This was at 10:30am and the interview was at 12:00pm! So of course I went. When I got there, there were at least 10 people waiting to be called in to be interviewed. After about a half hour, me and this other lady were called in. We were told a little bit about the company (never told the name of it though) and that they were actually just looking for managers not people customer service representatives which was the position I was seeking. I've never been employed in my life so of course I wasn't expecting to become a manager. But surprisingly the guy told me he would call me back at 1:15 that day regardless of my obvious lack of experience. When they called me (this was all yesterday btw) they said they wanted me to come in for a second interview at 12:00pm the next day (today). I was of course shocked and happy. So I showed up today and when I walked in, they were blasting music, the waiting room was full of people (about 24 I counted) and we had to sign in. Once we all signed in, we were told to follow the guy that had previously "interviewed" us, and were led to a room that looked like a classroom. He talked for 2 hours about the responsibilities of a manager, the "training program", benefits, etc. Then at the end, he chose me and 4 others and told us we were hired and to come in tomorrow morning at 10. Then he said we were free to go. I left and stuck around and saw everyone else come out about 10 mins later. Now I'm wondering what he told them. The whole ride home, I knew it had to be to good to be true or some time of scam. I mean, how could someone my age (18) with no work history at all be hired to be a manager of a company? It makes no sense. I'm glad I checked online to see if it is a scam. I'm either not showing up tomorrow or showing up to bring this subject up so everyone can check it out for themselves.

I so agree with you! When I did the "training" I simply asked why we could'nt get a soliciting lisence. I was called a W.P.o.S. for this. I was told one Friday (Good Friday) that I had to say " Kicking Good Fridays a** and taking cash". I refused, stating it went against my religon, I was called a W.P.o.S as well. Infact, anytime a person had a question they were called this.

If Scentura only dealt with individuals who had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest, they'd be waiting a long time,
especially in this economy. So they're willing to take all the financial risk.

Again, this is not for everyone, but the opportunity is definitely real, and many owners have gone on to make six-figure incomes running their own businesses that sell Scentura's products.

They distribute their product line to Independent Wholesale Business owners throughout the U.S. and have been in business for more than 35 years. They’re unique in that they provide merchandise without any capital outlay to these Independent Wholesale Distributors, meaning they don’t pay Scentura until after they’ve sold the merchandise. This is key because it removes a huge barrier of entry into business… Inventory costs.
