Planet Mobility Scam

We ordered an automatic sliding door opener for a handicapped women. We gave them our credit card and they processed it immediately. When it finally arrived it was missing some parts. After numerous attempts I finally got ahold of Mike Woods and the parts were to be delivered. Well when the parts finally arrived our client decided not to have it installed. We lost many clients because of this delay. Again after many attempts and finally getting ahold of Mike Woods we returned to product the exact we he requested. Still no refund so once again lets talk to Mike Woods. After numerous attempts I finally got ahold of Mike Woods and he wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee even thought it was there fault my client cancelled. After having mike call his shipping company we had a 3-way conversation and yes I was to receive a full refund. Weeks then months passed and NO refund. I called Mike Woods and he wanted me to call my charge card company. I did as he requested and the charge card company informed me that Mike Woods is the only one who can refund the money. Mike did not like hearing that from me a told me in Dec. of 2009, "Good luck getting your money back I am closing up the first of the year". T my surprise I called in February and they were still open. My attorney sent a letter and still no response. It is now 5/7/2010 and still no refund. I just left Mike Woods a message. Lets see if he calls back. They charged our charge card. They now have the product back on the shelves. We still have not received our $787.00 refund.

Planet Mobility They are liars and have fraudulent business practices

I ordered a automatic door opener from Planet mobility. They were quick to take the $737 out of my checking account, but when I hadn't rec'd the merchandise several weeks later, I called them. They said they had cancelled the contract with the vendor and would get a new one and send it out. So, I called the vendor of the door, Private Door. They told me the opposite...that they had cancelled the contract due to the fact that PM didn't pay their bills. I reordered the door from Private door directly. They were great and matched the price. Now, PM won't refund my money. How dare they even take the money out of my account when they didn't even have a vendor to fill the order with!I have finally filed a grievance with my bank, but still won't have the money back in time for Christmas, which is a real hardship on me. DO NOT GET ANYTHING FROM PLANET MOBILITY. THEY ARE LIARS AND HAVE FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES.

Planet Mobility Bad Business Practices

I wish I had seen all of the complaints filed against this company before I submitted my order for a scooter car carrier. The original cost was $479.00. They sent me the wrong product...twice. They refuse to reimburse my credit card company. As well, it cost me appproximately $420.00 to ship the 2 items back to them, because they refused to make good on their offer to have items returned at their cost. As well, it cost us money to purchase boxes for these items to be shipped back. I've lost about $920.00. I've contacted Better Business B. in Michigan. They never responded. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE UNETHICAL PEOPLE. Kathleen B.

Planet Mobility Will not honor warranty

Michael Woods as CEO has this company in shambles. I tried to cancel an order after seeing numerous complaints about this company on the web. I was told the order never went thru, next thing I know the $1650.00 scooter is here and on my charge card at the end of October, 2009. I called to have them pick it up the day after it arrived, as there was a 30 day free trial. I was told they would send someone in 3 days. Waited all day no one came.
Called the company again and was told by a girl to have my credit card company to dispute the charge, but not to tell the company she told me. I had to wait 15 days as per my credit card company to file a dispute, meanwhile I left about 20 messages and called and called Planet mobility and got one call back when I was not at home from Best buy mobility which is another name Planet Mobility uses. This company did not send the 3 yr warranty on the Lexus Light, and no documentation except the charge on my credit card. It has been over the 30 days and Planet Mobility has not responded to my credit card company, I have a temporary charge back to my account and am awaiting this company to respond. Hopefully I will get a permanent charge back. I am disabled and find this company to be shameful as I read all the complaints all over the web. I am so surprised they have not been shut down by the Attorney General in the State of Michigan and continue to keep hurting the most vulnerable handicapped people. Should enter them into Shame on You on TV and get the word out not to buy from these companies.

I bought a scooter from Planet Mobility in June of 2011, within 6 months the motor was bad . The local repair man was sent the wrong motor to replace the bad one, but he was able to temporarily repair the one in the machine. In early May 2012 the motor had completely failed. As per Mr. Woods instruction the motor was returned to him ( under warranty ). I called Mr. Woods, he said the motor had been dropped shipped to to the local repair man. That was two weeks ago. Now Mr. Woods is suddenly not available to take calls. It seems to me, He doesn't intend to replace the motor. I am told I can call the FBI for help, so will be doing that today! Please be warned buying from Planet Mobility is a bad idea, they won't honor their word or warranty. So any repairs you may need will be out of your pocket!

Planet Mobility Charged $12,000 for Trac About that I never received

In August 2009 I orderer a Trac About wheelchair for my disabled husband, not cheap the cost was close to $12, 000! I expected to have this chair by the end of September. Boy was I mistaken. It is now November and no chair. I finally demanded my money back when I was told that Planet Mobility is no longer a dealer for this chair. I have received $5000 but still not got the rest of the money. I guess I am going to have to sue the company for the remainder of my money. The sad part is that we are not able to get another chair until we get the money back from them to order it from somewhere else, therefore my husband has to wait some more! Please listen to me and the countless others that have had problems with this company and do not send them any money! I only wish I had checked this company out a little better.

Planet Mobility Took money but no product

Ordered from this company a Pride Hurricane costing $3999.99. The money was taken out of my checking account nearly a month ago and have never received as much as a thamk you kiss my butt or anything. Needless to say I have never gotten my mobility scooter and now i'm having trouble getting ny money back. This is a scam company verified by many people with the same problem. Don't bother talking to Mike about the problem because he is dumber than a box of rocks with no regard for the customer!

Planet Mobility Lies, lies, lies

I placed an order over the phone after seeing a rollator walker on their website. That was August 1, 2009. On the 5th the money ($193) was taken out of my account. After reading all the other complaints on the internet, I know this seems like small potatoes. But to me it is very needed money.

I waited for a couple of weeks and called Planet Mobility. I was told she would call back with a tracking number. No call. No tracking number. I called again on August 20th. I was told that they do not do business with that company any more and wanted to send me another rollator. It was a cheaper one and do not match the weight limit I needed and weighed more, which would be hard for me to lift in and out of the car. I told her, "No thanks, I wanted my money back." She said my account would be credited immediately.

I could not believe I watched for 3 weeks for a delivery of a rollater walker that was never sent. Nor did I get a phone call to inform me. I placed and repaid the order with Piperco.com and Evan, the owner, sent it out immediately! Great company.

So now it is September 8th, 2009. They still have my money and all information on my debit card. I have called [protected] and [protected] about 50 times. Always busy, like the phone is off the hook. After hours, it rings and goes to an answering machine. But then a message comes on that says the machine is full.

I am getting ready to call Mike Woods on his private line that I received on this site. ..[protected]. I know he lies, sends NFS checks and makes false promises. I don't know how to get my money back!

NEVER GIVE THEM A DIME!

Planet Mobility Horrendous customer service

I purchased a used Lexus Light. Oh, it looked so great! The previous owner had allowed the batteries to drain, they won't take a charge. I ordered replacement batteries, and my credit card was charged, in the middle of August.I'm writing this on September 13th. 3 weeks ago I was told the batteries were shipping to me.2 weeks ago I was told that was in error and that they were waiting on delivery from the warehouse. Yesterday I was told that the batteries were shipping and that i would receive a tracking number by this morning.Needless to say, that didn't happen. I can't find those batteries anywhere else!

Planet Mobility Ripping off the disabled

In January 2009 I purchased a pool/spa lift for my quadriplegic husband for $5653. I ordered by phone through Planet Mobility and told it would be delivered in 3-6 weeks. After 4 weeks I called to check on the order and was told that there was a delay with the manufacturer and it would be delivered within 2 weeks. Called again and again told it was the manufacturer causing the delay. A couple weeks later I was told that the manufacturer wasn't returning their calls anymore and they were working on it. Finally I said I just wanted my money back so that I could try to get another lift as my husband really needs the therapy. By the way everytime I called I was told that the owner, Michael Woods, was unavailable and he never returned any of the numerous messages that were supposedly left for him. The last time I finally got nasty about them returning my money and got a man named Dale on the phone who said he was the CFO. He said he would have my credit card reimbursed immediately. Later that evening Michael Woods called begging me to give them another chance to get the lift. I told him no, that I was feeling uncomfortable with the situation and just wanted my money back, he said okay he would credit my account. I then decided to contact the manufacturer myself because something seemed fishy. The manufacturer had my order, but never received the necessary specs on the pool and spa that is required for this item (I was never asked for any info from Planet Mobility). I was also told that they had never rec'd payment for this item, at this point it was approximately 3 months after I ordered. They also said that this company has ordered several of this same lift some recently and had no problems with getting the info or payment. So now I was really confused as to what the problem really was. I tried contacting Michael Woods again and was brushed off for a few weeks with no return calls so I filed a report with the BBB...low and behold I received a call from Mr. Woods within a couple of days. He said there was some problem with their credit card company and had to send me checks instead of crediting my account. And once again tried to convence me to give them another chance and even offered me anything I wanted free from their site. I said I just wanted my money back. Of course nothing happened, no checks, no credits nothing but a bunch of run around and excuses. I finally asked my father to contact them as he is an experienced paralegal and knows the laws regarding this type of thing. They have now given him every BS excuse in the book; the checks went out, oh no here they are sitting on a desk sorry we will overnight them...still no checks...we don't know what happened we will send certified checks overnight...oh oops don't know what happened. Finally got 2 checks (not certified) and was asked to cash one immediately and hold one for a couple of days. Well wouldn't you know when I went to THEIR bank to verify funds...there was no money to cover either check! So got more BS runaround like "someone must be writing checks that we don't know about" yeah right!. Also Mr. Woods called again to profusely apologize and offer me something free from their website, I told him I wanted my money first then we can talk about that. Finally got one check cashed which by the way their bank (B of A) refused to cash even though they verified the money was there...funny, huh. Two weeks later was told to cash the other check and GUESS WHAT it bounced! So that is where we are now in July...still trying to get the last $3000 back, my husband is still without desperately needed therapy and I am at my wits end with the lies, excuses and sheer lack of care or concern. Mr. Woods even tried to play the pity card and say how he is paralized and only wants to help disabled people...I bet he has the equipment he needs...

Planet Mobility unreliable service

I ordered a wheelchair lift for $3700.00 in December 2008. My credit card was charged shortly after that date. I was originally told delivery should take 4 weeks. In January 2009 I called to check on delivery and at that time I was told delivery would take 8 weeks. In Febuary when the lift still had not been delivered I called again and was told I would have to speak to Mike Woods. When I called Mr. Woods he assured me that I would have the lift within the next week or two. When the lift again did not I arrive I called Mr. Woods again. Each time I called he would guarentee delivery within the next week. I spoke with Mr. Woods at least 4 times yet the lift never arrived. One time I was given a traking number but when I called the shipping company no such traking number existed. I finally got the number of the company that actually manufactures the lift. I was told by them that planet mobility was way behind on their payments to the company and they would not ship out any futher lifts until they received payment in advance from planet mobilty. When I called Mike Woods again and threated to have my lawyer get involved, I finally received my lift 4 months after I ordered and payed for it.
I would NEVER do business with planet mobility again and would strongly advise everyone to stay for away from this company.

Planet Mobility Never recieved a mobility scooter I was charged for.

I purchased a mobility scooter in Jan 2008 on line.
After being charged for a Pride Go Go scooter on my credit card. I am still waiting to receive it.(it is now the middle of march 2009). I have called upwards of 15 documented times. I have a E-mail from there owner Michael woods stating it would be delivered on Feb 17, 2009, still no scooter.
The company puts you on hold, They promise some one will return your call. It is one excuse after another
with this company . They have to wait for there shipping girl to come in, or there computer system is down, or there waiting for a shipment from California.
I am only sorry that my Father who I purchased it for has past away and never got to use it.
Hopefully Ill see it in my life time.
I will never use there company again and strongly
suggest you buy your products from a company who will deliver on there promises.
I have contacted the channel 2 problem solvers who I hope will do a story on this company.

Planet Mobility Terrible service

Let's see now. On my 79 year old father's behalf, I called this company after he got two weeks use of his new $2, 400 scooter in the spring before it broke. Still being under the warranty, I figured this should be easy enough---wrong! After calling an endless amount of times the first month and put 'On Hold' for hours, not minutes now, hours, they finally sent a service man. Service man orders the part. Simple enough, right, wrong! Part is coming from California, more like China. Said it would be 3 weeks. Three weeks later, no part.

I called Planet Mobility to inquire as to where part was, who immediately put me 'on hold'--surprise. Owner, Michael Woods, was my customer rep who said he had to order part. Told him the part was already ordered put never received. His reply, 'Oh, I must have missed that.' Puts me on hold for half hour. I hung up and called back and lady puts me on hold again. I hung up again and called back, and before the lady could put me on hold I told her 'no, wait' and said you already had me on hold and Michael forgot to get back to me. Meanwhile, I could hear Michael Woods in the background saying, please hold to other calls he picked up on.

I pleaded with someone to talk to me to tell me what is going on and why my father hasn't gotten his part yet. I told them that this is not right to make him wait so long as this was his only Freedom. They sent him a cheap inferior loaner scooter in the meantime, which was useless outside his driveway for fear the small battery capacity would cease, not to mention, had no safety tip wheels and place for my father's oxygen.

Anyway, after a total of 2 1/2 hours on the phone and a party conversation with the California plant and the PM customer rep, I asked for his money back. They said they could not do that. I also asked for a warranty extension telling them what good is a warranty if you don't have use of the product while the warranty is in affect. The outcome was the part was promised for that following Monday.

Monday came and my Dad receives from Fedex, a seat part for a lady who lives in the midwest. My father lives in the Northeast who is waiting for a complete control panel.

My father called Planet Mobility and after being put 'on hold' they told him that the part is coming from California and would be there in another 3 to 4 days. A week passed and my father called yet again and after being put 'on Hold' as usual was told he would get the part in 3 1/2 weeks--taking it to the end of July. Now, I called, upon hearing that empty promise once again and to this date, July 3, 2008, they have now promised that the part is being shipped express delivery on Monday, July 7. I told my Dad, let's not hold our breath in the meantime.

Attempts to move these people to be responsible: Filed a Claim with with the Michigan Attorney General online--no response yet. Filed a Claim also with the NYS Attorney General Office--no response as of yet.

So, the saga still continues... I warn others to think twice before doing business with these people unless you have endless amount of hours to spend on the phone listening to a tape recording telling you how Planet Mobility will meet, if not exceed, your needs... if you need nothing maybe!

I ordered one walker in December 2008 and was charge twice for it. Have been trying to get a refund check since January 2009. Only check received was NSF. Was told by the "CEO" that a second certified check would be forthcoming. It never came. Filed complaint with BBB, got email via BBB, from Michael Woods stating that I received another check. That was a lie. As of this date, no refund for the second charge. Waiting for them to make it right... After reading all the complaints on this company, I doubt I'll ever get a check.

December 2. I have finally received my battery pack for the scooter. However, the $200.00 refund did not show up on our credit card. The gal who answered the phone when i called to check on it advised us to challenge that amount with our credit card company. With warily I have done that. The credit card company said to give them a month to check it out.

By the way, they never have sent me a return label for the wrong battery pack they sent me. How do they stay in business?

Now it is November 19. I called Planet Mobility on Tuesday after they did not return my call on Monday as promised. They promised to call me back with a tracking number on Wednesday. No call back. I just called them. After being put on hold for several minutes. I was told she was getting my file. Several more minutes on hold. She gave me a FedEx tracking number, saying the package was shipped yesterday. I checked the tracking numbe with FedEx. No such number on file.

I was going to order a power wheelchair from these guys .
My friend told me not to because a lot of trouble and complaints was on the web . Japan, where I live, also has these type of buzzards . I feel lucky to have had the chance to read your site .
I will forward these complaints around to inform other Japanese disabled people about Planet Mobility scamming practices and more that I will eventually dig out of the cesspool these sc$mbags seem to thrive on. My website too will link www.complaintsboard.com and I will try to translate most of the rants and complaints into Japanese . We handicapped people HAVE to stick together and disclose scammers like Mike Woods and his rat pack as fast as they pop out from their cesspools .
Keep up the good work and I do hope Planet Mobility, gets what it deserves ten times over ASAP .

Well, I just received a battery pack, today, for my scooter. WRONG ONE. Are we surprised? NOPE! I called PM and received more promises. Wanted us to ship it back and they would reimburse. Thanks to previous comments, I required PM to send me prepaid label and battery pack will be sent back when correct one arrives.

By the way, PM had not credited my account. Another promise. They must all be politicians.

I ordered a three wheel scooter from Planet Mobility in August. It was mid October before I received the scooter, itself. It is October 28th and I am still waiting on the battery pack to power the scooter. I called every two to three days and always got another excuse and promise (we'll throw in something extra for your trouble). Finally, they did credit us $200.00 (we'll see if it shows up on our credit card). That will help with the rental unit we've had to use while waiting.

Planet Mobility does go by another name, as well, Medical Mobility Inc. Same company and, I expect, the same service.
