I have no issues with the ambulance service with AMR. It bothers me that the cost of an ambulance ride's base rate is $2,860.98 and mileage cost for literally a 2-minute ride from Highland Hospital to Strong Memorial Hospital. My daughter needed to be treated at Golisano, so they transported her there. I believe the base rate for ambulance rides should be...

AMR Transportation not ordered or authorized by us from July 2023 to February 2024

My husband was in three different hospitals and three different physical rehab centers. Every time he needed to be moved, we were assured that the cost was covered by Kaiser. The hospital or rehab would order transportation by AMR and we would end up being billed by you. The doctors ordering the transport and the doctors receiving him both denied responsibility for the charges. My husband died in Hospice [protected] after being transported there by AMR. We keep getting bill after bill after bill. My income is $570 a month from Social Security. My husband's Social Security has stopped and I was told there are no more payments to us. The bills just keep coming. Today is another bill for $400. I cannot pay this and still have a $200 bill we owe you. The bills should be paid by whomever ordered you to move my husband and who assured me there would be no charge to us.

Country of complaint: United States

Claimed loss: We should not owe anything for transportation we did not authorize and which was said to be at no charge to us.

Desired outcome: Bills to us should be paid by whomever ordered the transportation for my husband, Michael Fitzgerald Kelleher. His widow, Joanna Kelleher11641 Laurel Lane, Parker, CO 80138

AMR Unprofessional first responders.

My name is Sandra Glessner, my mother has heart disease, kidney disease and type 2 diabetes, and about an hour ago she was taken by one of your ambulances to the hospital (I don't even know which hospital, because when we requested they take her to legacy, they said "No") so now I'll have to call around to find out. From the moment they entered our apartment, two of the three responders who arrived were very rude, complaining that we have stains on the carpet (we're potty training a puppy), and tried to blame all of my mom's health problems on marijuana, when she hasn't even smoked or ingested any in over 24 hours. She has had 7 heart attacks confirmed by medical doctors, and not one of them presented with chest pain, but the paramedics that were here today dismissed everything we told them, saying that it was unlikely to be a heart problem because she had no chest pain. When they asked to see her medications, we were unable to find them, and that made one of them angry, I unfortunately didn't catch his name tag, but he was an older bald gentleman with glasses who kept asking for them repeatedly, even after we explained we tried to find them and didn't know where they were, he took it upon himself to start going through our stuff to find them. He was also repeating the same questions to my mother over and over, including questions we had already answered. She was disoriented and kept saying "I don't know" and he would just say the same question again while she was still dry heaving, sweating and shaking, I then told them to "Either take her to the hospital or get out" to which he responded by yelling at me "We're not a taxi service!" then when I raised my voice in response to this and told him he was being unprofessional, he continued to yell at me and threatened to call the police on me. At this point my sister Veronika Glessner and I removed ourselves to a back bedroom and waited for them to leave while her fiancé Tanner Boyd waited with the paramedics until they were gone. The ambulance license plate number is D91639D.

Desired outcome: Someone who doesn't know how to stay calm in tense situations, should not be a paramedic. He either needs to be fired or re-trained.

AMR Fake sirens

I feel some of the runs are fake and unneeded. The loud sirens are annoying and disruptive. I have kept a log of runs on a daily basis, and if reviewed at least will reveal the name of individual(s) on call during that time. Thank you.

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: Just to be talked to and made aware that people are aware of this.

AMR discrimination at amr

I was fired in 2006? For being white! No joke! I was told flat out not 1 since white girl has lasted in billing- so, why put me there?
I applied for the EMT class and was just turned away! Bc my boyfriend is a paramedic there! Or bc I'm over educated and white! This place is [censored] and they discriminate! Sorry I already have a nursing background and am over qualified! Try hiring people who actually care instead of trash & you might have people last! I hope my boyfriend quits this [censored]hole
