Optionetics Advanced options traing

Some years ago I attended a 2 day Optionetics seminar in London and purchased advanced training credits for advanced options training seminars. Thereafter Optionetics stopped providing advanced trading seminars at locations in my country but refused to refund me for the money that I had paid for this training.

On my last contact (September 2016), they said that they no longer provided any advanced training at all and could not refund due to a new policy of not refunding for any training credits in existence for more than 12 months!.

In effect I have been cheated out of my money. As an Optionetics student, I have mistakenly placed my trust in the honesty and integrity of this firm.

Please advise if this educational training company is regulated by any industry body or is there any other practical way that I can seek to get my money back?

Optionetics Terrible experience

According to the contract I should have received my refund in full by April 02, 2009. I called today, April 23rd, and was told I was on a list but they could not tell me when I would receive my money. I asked if a supervisor could tell me I was told "nobody knows when the refunds will be issued but you are on the refund list and will receive it at some time". Financial advisors that cannot manage their money and abide by THEIR binding contract, scary! Losing money daily on the interest I am paying for them to use my money.

Optionetics Refund problem

I read an ad on the Toronto Star about Optionetics and the free seminar that was going to be available at the Delta Hotel in Scarborough, Ontario on Dec 18 (2008). I attended the seminar and I signed up for the two day workshop which would take place in Jan [protected]) at a cost of CAD4, 194.75. We were assured at the seminar that should anyone had a change of heart and decided to cancel, a written guaranteed was provided for a refund up to the day of the first class (because it was the holiday period, hence this guarantee). Anyways, I requested a refund first thing on Jan 11 before the class started and returned all the material received as well. I was told that I should see the refund on my card within two weeks and if I didn't, to contact Optionetics' number at the bottom of the form but that there should be no problems since it was all very straightforward. To make the story short, I called them after the two weeks only to be told that as per print in their refund form, I should allow up to 30 business days. I found myself fairly upset at what I found to be very deceiving information from the staff at the seminar and what I was being told now. I waited for the 30 days but still there was no refund. I have been calling their customer service dept every day since, and all they can say is that I am in their refund list but cannot tell me when I will get my money back. Meantime, interest is being charged on my credit card and frustration is mounting as I find the business practices of this company very unethical and misleading. I would suggest to anyone who wishes to sign up for their workshops to think twice before doing so as you may encounter the same problems that I have. They advertise in reputable newspapers and have a website running, giving the impression of impeccable services but it's all very different in practice.

I attended one of Optionetics seminars in the Tampa, FL area and signed up for the two day class. When I signed the contract I was told that I had 3 days to cancel and to follow the instructions on the contract if doing so. I attended the seminar on a Wednesday, so I had until midnight Monday to contact them regarding the cancellation. On Monday I spent $104 to send a telegram (which was listed as a viable means of contact on the contract) to the office address on the contract located in Orlando, FL. I received a phone call from the telegram service telling me that the office address did not exist. I tried the phone number listed and no answer. I called the Optionetics office in Redwood City and was told by Pat, to fax a copy of everything to that office, to her attention and it would be handled. Since then I have called repeateadly and have been told every excuse for why I haven't received the refund. The last one being that the company that handles their refunds weren't doing a good job so Optionetics took it over and that I would get my refund back in seven to ten days. It's now been fourteen days since then, over 60 days since the beginning and still no refund. Called them again today and was told that now they have to email their accounting office and find out why the check wasn't sent. I asked her why she couldn't just pick up the phone and call while I waited and she said that that would be impossible, she said it would be quicker through email. Such is life! I don't know where to turn now, I guess more phone calls.

Guaranteed refund in 30 days not received after 51 days. Told I am on a list to receive it but nobody has any idea of when that will be.

Optionetics They called an awful lot

I sent in the form on the optionetics site to get information on the mentor program. I was called back by 2 agents within an hour of each other. Not sure if it was a selling tactic or if they just did not know that they called me twice.

I called one of the agents back and was given a sales pitch that sounded familiar to my network marketing days where they teach you to posture your potential customer. I was told that the mentor program was an elite program and I would have to go through a second interview with a Mr. XXXXX. Which I thought was strange from the start normally people say the person's first and last name. I was then told after the interview that I should not be disappointed if they did not choose me for the program. The price range was 5000 and up.

After finding numerous complaints on line about the company that people took a lot of time to write, I decided against the program. Also I have never heard of a program that is supposed to teach you, not sell you of being so selective. So of course in the end you would invest 5000 + without even getting the software that they will pitch to you later.

I called to tell the guy that I spoke to that I am not interested. I proceeded to get 6 + call throughout the day. For a program that told me they would have to see if I am good enough! They called an awful lot. Which tells me that something is wrong. One rule of sales you don't chase the No's you focus on the next sale.

I am soooo happy I decided against such a commercialized way of learning! Thanks to all the posts on the internet!

Optionetics Internet Fraud involving free software trial!

Optionetics is a company that provides training for options trading. They are based in Redwood City, CA. The company runs Internet ads for a free software trial. The consumer clicks the ad and is taken to the Optionetics website, www.optionetics.com. During the registration process, the consumer is asked for his credit card information but is assured repeatedly that he will not be charged as long as he cancels his free trial within 14 days. The consumer cancels the free trial before the deadline and is again assured that he will not be charged. A couple of weeks later, Optionetics charges the consumer's credit card $75 without authorization. Optionetics claims that the $75 is for the instruction manual. They mail this instruction manual, which is 20 pieces of copier paper, without asking the customer and then charge his card without authorization. This is illegal and is obviously fraud.
