Old Pueblo Traders delivery

This is a difficult company to interact with. After too much info, that is already verified on the menu before talking to a rep, the rep really cannot actually do anything. They can't expedite an order, even with increased payment, they can't cancel it, they can't connect you to a supervisor.

Unusually bad service. Am sorry I ordered with them, so want to let people know to move on.

Old Pueblo Traders Lousy customer service

On 6/1/09 I sent an order in for a nightshirt & a pair of slippers. They were each $19.99 plus S&H. I got 2 pair of slippers. I followed the instructions exactly for an exchange. I got a check for $13.56. I returned the check with a letter saying I did not want a check for $13.56 & if they didn't have the color nightshirt I wanted I would take any color. I have called, written & e-mailed. It is now 8/8/09 & all I have gotten from my 6/1/09 order is a pair of slippers. I can't see how they can promote themselves as a company who prides themselves on customer service because it's non-existent.

Update: We received a call from one of the company managers named Arcel (sp?). She was very courteous and apologetic for our experience with her company. She immediately offered a 50% discount. We appreciate her consideration and accepted the 50% discount based on the black Friday company offer. Thanks again Arcel!

My mother placed an order with this company and we noticed, the following day, there was an advertisement for 50% black Friday special on all orders if you use the designated code. We called an spoke to two different representatives who said they could not honor the 50% off discount since she did not use the code when placing he order. We asked that the order be cancelled prior to shipment, since the order was still in process. We were assured the order would be cancelled and we would receive an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation within 24 hours. We never received the confirmation, so we followed up and spoke with yet another representative who assured us the order had been cancelled and we would receive an e-mail confirmation and that we should allow an additional 24 hours. We also called and left a voice message for a supervisor clearly indicating that we had been told the order was cancelled and we wanted to follow up with a level of management to make sure the cancellation took place. Today we checked the online account only to find that the order has been shipped. So, you don't honor your sales and discount pricing with elderly customers, lie about the cancellations to your customers and expect no one to write about it. It's obvious they do not care. We will return this order upon receipt and never shop with this company again. Also, the price for the product is cheaper when you go directly to the manufacturers website. In our case it is a shoe purchase. (www.softspots.com)

I placed an order on the evening of August 23rd and the shipping charge was $5.95. Early on August 24th I received an email stating that any order placed on the 24th would qualify for a 99 cent shipping charge. So I called Old Pueblo Traders to see if they would honor the 99 cent shipping charge. I was told definitely not - that the order had been processed. This, in my opinion, is very poor customer service and I will never place another order with this company and I will be closing my account. Wouldn't it have just been much easier to just credit the account for the difference in shipping charges? Well, I guess not, as it seems that they don't care if they lose a customer over a $4.96 dispute. Very, very poor customer service!

Ever since we bought something from AMO, we've been getting at least one phone call a day, sometimes two a day, from their telephone solicitors. We can't make them stop! I would never recommend them, and we will NEVER buy anything from them again.

Did you call the customer service number when you received the two pairs of slippers? Did you report the mistake to the company BEFORE you filled out your exchange form? I bet you didn't. Because if you had, you would have been waived the return label fee AND the Customer Service agent would have checked to make sure the nightshirt was still available and would have reshipped out the nightshirt free of no cost. Perhaps, instead of blaming companies for lousy customer service you should take a personal inventory and see if you did your part.

Old Pueblo Traders Shipping charges

Recently I returned an item that was misleading in it's advertising in an OPT catalog. When returning an item, you can pay for it yourself, or use the "convenient" and expensive OPT return label service. I chose to pay for it myself at half the cost. When the credit was issued by OPT, it was reduced by the amount of the return label service, when no shipping should have been deducted at all. In total, I paid $15.90 for an item that was returned.

My mother ordered a pair of $20 slacks from Old Pueblo Traders earlier this year (2011) and sent them back because they didn't fit. She used the return label. On July 5 she received a bill for $15.45 postage for returning these. I phoned OPT that same day, thinking that must be a mistake, but learned that this was their charge for returning these. That same day, July 5, I put a check in the mail.

July 23, my mother received another bill showing that she owed another $36.45 postage for these same slacks. I phoned OPT, and was put through the most stressful and time consuming automated phone system imaginable. I kept pressing different options as instructed through OPT's system and kept holding. I finally gave up and tried a little later but went through the same Hell. When I finally got to talk to a live person, she immediately put me back into the holding pattern before I could tell her not to do this to me. I kept getting nowhere.

Eventually I ended up talking to a live person who was of no help. Customers deserve better. By this time, I was having a nervous break-down and practically pulling my hair out by the roots. No business deserves customers if it treats us this way. After explaining the situation to her she said that possibly the check I mailed on July 5 crossed with the new bill. How is this possible when we mailed that check the same day we received it? Furthermore, bank records show that OPT processed the check on July 14, yet July 23 we received that bill for $36.45.

Over the years, my mother and I have ordered through OPT but never again! I don't give a bad business a second chance unless they really try hard to earn back my business. Also, I told them to remove us from their mailing list but as of September 15 we are still receiving their catalogs.

And OPT cares nothing about the environment. Over the years they have sent multiple catalogs per week. We have even received more than one in the same day.

Also, OPT does not make their email address available to customers so I'm posting this online everywhere I can.

I agree with name : "withheld2" as the same thing happened to me with an order for shoes. Returned the shoes at my own (and much less!) expense, only to have the refund to my credit card reduced by the amount of their postage return rate (their label was nowhere on the returned packeage). Emailed for refund of credit card. Got a check in the mail weeks later.
