Today, 9/30/09 at 8:30 am I witnessed the daycare van for this “establishment” driving erratically. The driver blatantly ran a stop sign on Avondale Rd (piggybacking on the car in front of them) and proceeded to tailgate the rest of the way down Avondale. I called the center and asked to speak to the Director, told her of my concerns, and her response was “Ok”. There was a long pause to which I finally responded, “That’s it? Just ok? No I’m so sorry? No Oh my god that’s terrible? Nothing? Where on earth could a daycare van be going that is that urgent; while advertising your business, which my daughter will certainly never be attending? Well that’s fine. There are plenty of other phone calls I can make about this.” That seemed to get her attention as she defensively responded “Well if you had let me finish!” I informed her that I gave her plenty of time to finish and to have a good day. Her response of first blowing me off and then acting overly defensive indicates to me that she was either the person driving the van or she does not care about the safety of the children in her care. I certainly wouldn’t want my daughter in a vehicle driving without regard for her safety (not to mention, what other safety issues are they disregarding?) and I would urge you to consider an alternative childcare center before intrusting your precious child to this daycare.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. Other Daycares in the area are expensive so this is the most affordable one and probably why folks keep their kids there. My baby was there for 4 months and it was the worst experience I've had. The place is not cleaned properly, the staff is unprofessional unqualified, and Shannon the Director is one of the worst personalities I've every encountered. She constantly lies, breaking down every trust you would have in a person cares for your child. She used to drive the van and I'm certain she's the one who answered the call the person mentioned earlier in this comment section. She's just rude and uncouth. Some folks may have had a good experience there but I will say this, if you ever encounter an issue and need it addressed, you will be met with over-talking and constant condescending behavior. If you need further confirmation, look up their Baltimore County inspection reports and see what the infractions are. Dirty, dirty, unqualified teachers, hazards for the kids, improper documentation, leaving too many babies in 1 person's care, etc.

i am a parent an my child has been going to Leaps and Bounds since she was 4 months old! Since day one when she was in the nursery she has got the best care possible. And through every room that she has moved onto she has always had a easy transition with her teachers! The staff is very caring towards her as they are with the other children there. They never hesitate to give you new ideas on things that they feel help your child to grow, or ideas on how to improve things when you come to them with a question or concern. Having her be there is like sending her to my family to watch her, they care that much! She is always well taken care of an seems to always be in a good mood. I would def reccomend sending your child here! Its a great atmosphere for parents an children!

The manager Shanon is very nasty toward the parents and dont know how to speak to people, that makes me wonder how she would treat the kids when no one is around

I would not recommend this daycare to anyone.. I had my child there for almost a year, I had several problems my child would get hit and bit by children and the staff didn’t know why or how it happened. I feel that if I am paying them to watch my child, then you should know why they were bit or how it even happened. Not to mention that I moved my child because I feel that this center allows child to run wild all day. My child is now in another center, it’s been about 4 months and my child knows the days of week, abc's, numbers and is potty trained. That just shows me that Leaps and Bounds allows the children to play and run all day with no teaching them. Please reconsider when thinking about sending your child to this center.

I understand you being upset at the way the van was driven, as would I, but you have no right to make assumptions about the way the children are cared for at the center itself. My 3 y.o. has been at the center since he was 6 weeks and I have nothing but wonderful things to say.The staff is helpful, caring, well informed, and in all honesty, like an extended family member.I would recommend this daycare to anyone and everyone and that is coming from a self confessed over protective mom.I would also recommend questioning/mentioning the above complaint, as it should not be ignored.Just remember the above was also driving at the time and does not actually have a child attending the daycare.
