Kevin hired to complete a master bath renovation 10/11/2018 through Home Advisor handyman services. He presented himself a any con-artist would as professional, honest, dependable and transparent. Sold me with his presentation and we agreed to do business he even said for added customer assurance we could pay through his pay pal account but conviently he was unable to get it to work so asked me for a check for 1140.00 and my disabled partner had given him 200.00 in cash for plumbing parts prior to me getting home from work so total of 1340.00 as deposit to start work on our master bathroom remodel. Kevin said he would be back to our home 9:30am Sat 10/13/18 to start work and should be completed by the time I got home on Thur 10/18/2018. Sat 10/13 Kevin text me he was running late I text back OK bathroom is cleaned out and ready for work. He was a no show all day a not call so my partner called him and he stated he cant talk right now and still no call back that day. Following day still a no call and no show so my partner called him again that evening and Kevin stated the same can not talk. Mon 10/15 Kevin did communicate stating his mom had a stroke we were very sorry to hear that news but informed him we need communication he simply took our 1340.00 and never returned and would not communicate starting off our business relationship with distrust. Tue 10/16 Kevin finally communicated and attempted to repair the distrust but managed to work aprox 8hrs from 8/16-8/25 very little communication, work a couple hours go to lunch and not return. My partner is disabled and has a number of ongoing doctor appointments and recently had 5 disc removed and replaced in his neck and he was trying to work around the times Kevin was giving he would show to work but consistantly Kevin would not call nor show on time causing a lot of doctor sch issues for my partner who would change apts to be home to let Kevin in and then no show and no call causing excess stress for my partner. The constant no calls no shows and no work getting completed became very stressful and even though my partner and I tried to talk with Kevin and express concern he poured on the charm and sympathy to convince us he was very sorry and would do us right and get the job dont to satisfaction. However the no calls and no shows continued Kevin promised to show for work at 1pm once again was a no call no show so my disabled partner left for his doctor apt and called Kevin no answer so he sent a fustrated text that prompted Kevin to call and my partner told him he was a no show as usual so he cant get in house to work since he is on his way to his doctor apt. Kevin stated he was on his way to our home but had never called or text he was running late again. When my partner told him in and this is not working out and asked for a refund Kevin accused him of keeping his tools he had left at our home as a trust gesture t would actually show up for work. Kevin filed a police report. I get home and was informed of all that happened and called Kevin and assured him his tools are his he said my partner had put them behind the fence demanding a refund. Told him no his tools behind the fence for safety and he can come get them Kevin stated he would rather complete the job and could completed it in 2 days. He made it ovious to me a refund was not going to happen so felt it best to try to work with him to get the job completed. Kevin was to show up for work 1pm 10/25 but again no show until 5pm when I get home he asked me to step outside to talk and he asked me for more money before he completes the job I refused as a e Advisor rep had advised my partner when e called to file a complaint. She told him never pay anyone sent from home advisor until the job has been completed. When I refused to pay Kevin more money he said he is not comfortable with trust issues and quite the job but agreed to reimburse 642.00 to me and text me the promise to refund by 6pm 10/27 when of course once again he was a no call no show as he had promised. Kevin Henderson is a scam artist using Advisor as he platform to more victims to take advantage of. In his customer feedback you will see the same exact issues happened with other customers with no calls and no show and had to file complaints through pay pal to o refunds. My disabled partner and I are seeking assistance from Home Advisor to help regain our 1340.00 and help prevent this con-artist, scam artist and professional lier from using your platform to take advantage of other customers using your services. I will also be filing a complaint through the BBB.

Unfortunately, we had the same experience with Kevin Henderson with a fence repair. He's calling himself Handyman Service these days and quoted me $1200 for fence repair. I gave him a deposit of $480 and the work was scheduled for 8/10/22. On 8/9/22, I texted Kevin to confirm the work on 8/10/22. Kevin called me to say he and his wife were in a car accident and he would not be able to show up on the 10th. On 8/15/22, Kevin's assistant, Aaron, attempted to fix the fence and butchered it. The assistant stopped, because he didn't feel he could complete the job. On 8/25/22, text exchange and Kevin states the work will be done week of 8/29/22 or 9/5/22. Kevin does not show either week. On 9/13/22, text Kevin for an update and he responds on 9/15/22 stating that he will do the work the week of 9/19/22. On 9/21/22, text exchange to see if Kevin is coming this week and he replies, "As of now, yes." Kevin does not show up that week. On 9/25/22, I text Kevin to cancel the job, repair of the damaged fence by the assistant and request the return of my $480. No response from Kevin. Text follow-ups to Kevin on 9/27/22 and 9/28/22. Again, no responses.

On 10/8/22, I text Kevin with an insult to provoke him and he finally responds. In summary, Kevin admits he's a scam artist and questions why I'm making a big deal out of $480.

I also had the misfortune of trusting Kevin (now "Maintech" in Nashville) after he told me he was a licensed contractor and could take care of my home renovation. Fast-forward 4 months and I was out over 25,000 (15k in deposit money for materials, granite, lumber, etc.) and a destroyed house (LOTS photos to show for it) that cost approximately 47,000 to repair. Turns out, he had never been a licensed contractor... he had a BUSINESS license, but he never corrected me when I referred to him as a liscensed contractor. He got in over his head and bailed with me left to pick up the pieces and massive debt. Expensive and disheartening lesson learned.
