I moved into a brand new home about 2 months ago. Now that the weather has changed and it is much cooler/colder outside, I am experiencing a huge problem with condensation. The amount of water that it is looks more like the windows are leaking. It is just that extreme. I was told today by the warranty manager for the company that built the home that it will get better over time. How long is that? After the window seals have rotted out and I have to pay for them to be replaced. This is a daytime nightmare. I am also reading of other complaints from others with General Aluminum windows and it really doesn't look good. If there is anyone out there that can help me please respond. This is really hard to swallow with a home that is more than $250k. HELP!

My home is 8 years old. Unfortunately, I purchased the home from previous owner after they lived in the home for a year.
I have 4 windows so far that need replacing.
Ga had a 10 year warranty but only applies to original owner so I am out of luck
My neighbor has to have all windows replaced. Still can be expensive even with warranty as u have to pay labor and shipping.
Talked to the installer they agreed the GA windows manufactured at that time appear to be defective.
I explained the situation to the manufactor who took over GA window complaints. They said all windows have problems with fog.
They could not do anything for me as not the original owner. I fail to understand how not being the original owner affects the windows.
I told her I lived in a home for 20 years had no problem with fog and condensation or finish coming off opaque bathroom windows.
I
I explained to her the windows are defective as almost everyone I talked with has had a problem with ga windows in this subdivision
I paid 437, 00 for this home and just assumed the windows were decent quality.
I told her ga sold defective windows. I finished the conversation with they are defective and u refuse to do anything about it
She said I was entitled to my opinion.
Well, so glad u agree I am entitled to an opinion
THEY ARE JUNK.

It is NOT normal! I have already had one window replaced, and now EVERY window in my house is coated and looks disgusting! A $400, 000 house and I can't afford to replace every window in the house! It looks like a fog over the Windows which of course is in between the panes. Faulty Windows!

I hve new home also that is having the same problem with extreme condensation. I have gotten no where getting this resolved. I have been told this is normal. NORMAL? like heck. This is going to only cause rot, mold, and a terminate problem in the near future. I was told by my local building supply store that they contacted the company and they said nothing was wrong with the windows. I have NEVER had a new home that has such condesation problems!
