Ford - mother ripped off by dealership

PLEASE READ THIS COMPLAINT AND IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME, HELP! I just returned to WA to discover my mother bought a new vehicle in 2007 from SOUND FORD of Renton. After going through her paperwork, I was horrified to discover that my mother had been RIPPED OFF by them. She had no idea that she had been ripped off because she knows nothing about cars, has no comprehension of underhanded and evil people and having gotten what she considered an OK from the Attorney General's office of Washington State, she just assummed all was good when she was told to go down and pick up the car she wanted. She was assured it was the one with the options from her circled ads. This all began as a false advertising inquiry concerning car ads SOUND FORD was running on a 2007 Hybrid ESCAPE. After receiving a bogus letter from the Seattle Times newspaper trying to clear SOUND FORD of any wrong doing, (bogus: because the dates the Times listed as their mistake not SOUND FORD's classifieds weren't ones in question), the Attorney General's office, Dennis Poor, Consumer Service Specialist (206/464-6816), specifically, contacted my mother and informed her that SOUND FORD had the vehicle she wanted and to go down and pick it up. For 9 weeks, from December 25, 2006 until January 19, 2007, my mother saved and circled SOUND FORD'S ad. There is much more to this story but in the end, the Seattle Times newspaper covered SOUND FORD'S back with a phony letter and the Attorney General's office of WA, for not bothering to investigate the allegations and my mother seeing no evil, believed the lies and went down to SOUND FORD to pick up her long awaited vehicle. Upon her arrival she was immediately ushered her into Mr. Eddie Shajari, the General Manager's office. They then proceeded to play Frank Sinatra music, of which they followed up by sending her a CD of the music she heard. In my opinion the CD was send in an attempt to further ensure my mother still considered them "nice guys!" Also being part of this Bait and Switch con was the Service Manager, Gary DeJarlais. I feel it was his job to further distract my elderly mother with pictures of his Great Dane puppies. Knowing this would totally captivate my mother because her service dog is a large Mastiff and she is always eager to talk to large dog owners. Bottom line, is my mother circled 9 wks of ads for a vehicle advertising for $25, 961 and she drove home with the one selling for $13, 961 and none of the options she wanted! Not to worry though, she PAID for the higher priced one and all those extra options and received none of them. She paid a total of: $36, 600.32 and got not one of the options she wanted. My mother is an Ordained Minister, was 80 yrs. old at the time, knows nothing about cars or men, especially dishonest ones and thinking that a car dealership is out to rip people off, well that doesn't enter into her reality. She didn't know she didn't get the options she wanted and paid for until I flipped out on my return. I am at a loss as to what, if anything can be done because of so much time passing. I think it is immoral what this dealership has done to my mother, who is on a fixed income and barely surviving now. This vehicle was a treat to herself even though it took the majority of her retirement money, she figured it would be the last vehicle she would ever acquire. There should be a law against companies who make it a practice to rip off the elderly. They're a disgrace and the FORD Corporation should be embarrassed of the way they are being represented.

It's not surprising that the Seattle Times covered up for Sound Ford's wrong doings. The Renton Police covered up drug deals going on within their business, on their lot and between their managers for years. The owners of Sound Ford are dirty and wealthy and have bought loyalty from the powers that be.
