Ringtonestimes review: I've been scammed! 14

I had asked for a free down load classical music ringtone. A few days later I started receiving jokes on my cell phone. A text message would come up that it was $5.99 a week. I texted back and said I did not authorize and didn't want. It said that "Sorry, ur command is not recognized."

I got my cell phone bill today and was billed for $5.99 4 times. I got on website that they gave me to send them a message. I hit the send button and it never went through.

I've been scammed.

Hi,
I too signed up for "free" ringtones and then soon read over that they would charge me $9.99. I texted them telling them to cancel and emailed them and then texted them again. My final text was replied with a Sorry, you are not a subscriber to any of ringtonetimes services. SO, does that mean that they won't try to send me more stuff and bill me for it? I hope they don't. Have any of you gotten this message and still received bills or texts, ringtones, etc? I'm just trying to find out if I rid myself of this scam company. Thanks.

I was checking out football ringtones and didn't even order them and i get these stupid jokes. I tried to find the website for them on line to no avail. These people need to be stopped some way. If anyone has any luck please let me know. This has been going on for 3 months now.

Look people, it is completely frustrating to have a situation like this where you have these unexpected charges. but lets stick with the old saying of nothing is free. Underneath everyone of the adds stating "hey come get a FREE something or another" there is smaller, but very visible print stating what the charges are going to be. These businesses aren't scam their advertising is just misleading. HOWEVER I am also upset with it only because they continued to charge me after i spoke with one of their customer service reps stating that since my phone wasn't compatible with their ringtones that i wouldn't be charged, obviously i was charged or else i would be typing in here now. IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL THIS SUBSCRIPTION call: [protected]. enter in your mobil number, press one to cancel, and then 8 to confirm cancelation. if you speak with a rep they are nice enough to send out a check to you for your money back if your reason for requesting is more valid than ignoring fine print. IF YOU TYPE IN YOUR NUMBER WITHOUT CONSIDERING CONSEQUENCES tough luck, learn from and deal with this experience.

I have bee duped the same as the rest of you. You try to be a law abiding citizen and this is what you get for it. I have tried several times to cancel this stupid joke thing and have failed. I have called my phone company to complain. Does anyone have a phone number for this scam company? I am also planning to get in touch with my attorney general. I will also ask for reembursement for the service that I did not receive.

I have called Alltel over 4 times, each statement requesting these charges be removed. Each time I was told this would be handled, still getting statement w/ charges. I called Alltel today and they said all I could do is cancel and pay out the contract fees which amount to $200.. I haven't even been getting the stupid jokes and still getting charged by Alltel.. Not understanding this.. VERY UPSET!

Same thing here. Went to the site for a "free ringtone" and they started sending jokes. Thought it was weird when I received a text they were renewing my subscription, which I never signed up for. It said to text a certain number back to them, I did, and it said I was not a subscriber and did not accept. I tried it a couple more times and go the same message. Tried contacting the website and was unsuccessful. Somehow I stopped receiving the jokes, but I need to check if I am still getting billed.

I wished to have ringtones and all I get is this text message crap that I find neither humorous or witty. I am trying to cancel but it seems impossible to do so. Anyone know how to cancel this...

We got scammed the same way. Through a link on the Human Events site and trusting that it way a reputable outfit they got our cell #. They asked if we wanted a republican ring on our phone. Next day the phone started ringing at 8:30 and a stupid text message joke would pop up. We didn't know what the H--- was going on. I finally found out and cancelled the trash (I hope). Alltell is cooperating with the ### by charging our account $5.99 twice plus text message fees of $2.40. Alltell says they will not refund the charges claiming that if we disclosed our cell # to these vultures we are obligated to pay until we cancel the "service." They were gracious enough to tell us how to cancel.

I'm ready for the class action lawsuit.

I also was scammed by this company. I went into a website to check on free Nascar ring tones and was sent to this company and instead of ring tone was charged 5.99 for jokes of the day which I did not authorize. I immediately cancelled it the next day but it showed up on my cell phone bill. I called the number on their web site and got a recording that the number won't go through.
