Canadian Health & Care Mall / Hacked My Gmail Account Through My I-Phone

1 United States

On February 16, 2011 at about 11:30 a.m. I received a text message from an unknown source on my I-Phone. I use gmail and my gmail contacts are linked to my I-phone. I opened the text message, then deleted it. Within a few minutes I started getting phone calls from people I hadn't heard from in a while asking about a strange email I'd sent them. When I got back to my office I saw my gmail inbox and send box had exploded. An email was being sent to everyone in my contacts list. The email had no subject line, but did have my name as the sender. The email contained a link. The link was to a bogus company named Canadian Health & Care Mall. It took me the better part of two days to be able to contact everyone (including business clients) and tell them what had happened. I am very nervous that these ### will attack me again. I am thinking of unlinking my gmail contacts from my I-phone. I would appreciate anyone's advice or comments re: how to protect myself further using gmail and i-phone.
