Very unhappy and frustrated with my (attempted) order from Apex Battery. Tried to order a projection lamp for my Mitsubishi TV. searched all over the web for the particular part number, provided by Mitsubishi. Came across Apex. Not THE cheapest, but cheaper than many.

Long story short, they sent me then completely wrong part. I verified my order many, many times to be correct.

I had to return the wrong part, wait for my money to be refunded and then attempt to order again. Well, when I went to reorder, the part had gone up $100 in price! They said that originally there was an error in their database and my (completely correct) part number was referenced against the wrong part. They also said that, (conveniently) they no longer carry the lamp only. You have to buy the entire housing!

So, at the worst, it was a bait and switch. At best it was carelessness/negligence as it pertains to their inventory management and shipping oversight.

From my perspective, I've been 3 weeks without my TV now and had my money tied up for 2 of those 3 weeks. Their support people were pleasant, but a little unresponsive at first. It was not until I had called 3 times and got a little pushy that I started getting returned calls. They were definitely polite and 'understanding', but ultimately, from a consumer perspective, it was not a good transaction at all - bottom line!

I'd advise you to be very careful when ordering as there could very likely be other 'errors' in their inventory database.

I have had very poor service from my apex batteries in my scooter made for handicapped persons. I have had two of the
battery packs for my Drive scooters only last for 10-14 days. the first one only lasted about 3 months. I do not know what I can get around my home if this equipment. If I am going to take a " hair cut " on these batteries, then I am going to contact my attorney general, Mike Wine, from Ohio, and both of my State". Reps". Please help!

Ordered batteries for mobility scooter. Talked to Paul Mondelo thru chat and he assured me that these were the right batteries and if they were not that there would be not trouble returning. That sent an Rma rather quickly and I returned batteries and it has been two weeks almost since they got the batteries back. Still no refund. Chatted again with Mondelo and was told that info from warehouse had not been submitted to accounting and he would check on it "now". that was seven days ago. Get on the site today and try to chat with Mondelo and he will not respond. I have sent two emails that have not been responded to. I will do all I can to discredit this sham of a company. And if I do not get my money soon then the AG will be involved.

I will never use this compny again. Bad customer service and slow shipping. Reluctant to side with customer even when they admitted they were wrong.

I'm at website waiting for chat response - they are "researching" for the information...I entered the model number of the battery I need into their search engine. The listing says one thing... the photo is of another... and neither matches the correct information for the model # that I entered of the battery I have right infront of me... Thanks for the posts. Looks like this place is totally unreliable.

Ordered 4 batteries (12v 12AH) for electric bike and got them fast but after 5 months of use one of them shorted inside and blew up during charging cycle. I called apex and they sent me 4 replacements (supposedly better @ 12v 15AH batteries) fast shipping but replacements only lasted 9 months for a 14 month total usage (5 + 9) on their 1 year warranty program. Semi-literate Sales Manager Mercedes Posado told me that the warranty did not apply to the second set of batteries and I was left with dead batteries! Fast shipping but Junk Chinese Crap Batteries need to be shipped fast so that it appears that they lasted longer!

Avoid Apex Battery! I too ordered a battery and received a "universal" battery that had the same amperage and voltage as the battery I needed but was physically the wrong size. It wouldn't fit. I emailed them with the problem and Ernesto immediately replied saying he needed to get an RMA number from the warehouse and that would take 24 hours. A week later and no RMA, I emailed him again and again he said he'd have to get the RMA number from the warehouse. Same thing another week later. On week three I called and spoke with Ernesto and - you guessed it - he still had to get the RMA number from the warehouse. Two days later I called American Express, who disputed the charge for me and voila I received the RMA number that day. The RMA also stated I ordered the wrong battery and they would replace the battery once they received the wrong one. I told them to keep it and I expected to be reimbursed in full. Two weeks later they sent a check for the cost of the battery only. In the end I lost $45 - $20 for them to ship it to me and $25 to ship it back - on an $85 battery.

Should you ever have any issue you should email customer@apexbattery.com . They offer full refunds within 30 days for any reason whatsoever. I accidentally ordered the wrong battery and sent it back and they contacted me and offered me a full refund or asked if I wanted to put the credit towards the right battery. I was so happy with this customer service I found this review site to share it.

I ordered a replacement battery for my house alarm. The Apex website specifically mentioned a brand name and model of battery including showing a picture of the brand name battery. What I received was a generic/"universal" battery with a slightly lower amp-hour rating than the brand name battery. I thought I was getting the brand name battery and am disappointed by the "switch" Apex pulled. If you read the fine print on their website they state that, "Any use of a brand name or model designation for a non-OEM part is made solely for purposes of demonstrating compatibility."

I feel that mentioning a brand name/part number and using a picture of the brand name battery without making it very clear that a generic battery will be delivered is not the mark of a good seller. It strikes me as being dishonest. I would not purchase a battery from Apex again.

I tried to order batteries for a walk behind golf cart made by MK Battery corp in California. They told me to use Apex because they are only wholesale.
That sparked my attention to look up any complaints about Apex.
I called Apex to inquire about the battery and something was very fishy when speaking to technical department about what type of battery to use.
I will find another source for my needs. Thanks but no thanks MK.
MK should check out who they send customers to. But then if MK is in on the
whole shell company thing to rip off people, they hope everyone will not check.
Thanks for a great service Complaints Board.

I had a good experience ordering two batteries for my battery backup units from Apex. After reading these complaints I will gladly suck up the extra $5 bucks each to buy them over the counter locally if this is how Apex treats customers who have been wronged by them. Damn. Thought I found a good source, I have a6 battery backups, now I am afraid to try my luck with them a second time. Can't beat walking up to a counter, face to face. Thanks for the warning. Like a tornado, some people are left unscathed, some get hurt - I don't want to get hurt to save $5. Hey! Apex! Are you listening? This is how word of mouth turns a happy customer away. Fix these people that you abused and you should eat a discount for their trouble.

Avoid Apex Battery at all cost! I ordered replacement batteries for an APC UPS. They lasted just a few days over their 1 year warranty. Apex refused to offer any sort of compromise or replacement. These batteries should easily last 4-5 years. No wonder they are so cheap. They are JUNK!

APEX BATTERY WARNING!
FRAUD and THEFT
Used online ordering to purchase a motorcycle battery.
1 week later no battery so I call and get an answering service
another week goes by I have left them messages (again no representative EVER answers the phone) almost daily with NO return call and still no battery!
Report this to my credit card company only to find out that exactly one week after they charged my card the first time they charged it for the same amount again. Never sent a battery just charge me for one every week that goes by.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and had to involve the California Attorney generals office to get them to respond to me. DO NOT TRUST APEX BATTERY!

I ordered a battery for my moped from them. Two weeks later and it still hadn't shipped we called them and they told me it was on back order. This was not listed anywhere on their site that the item I wanted was back ordered. I cancelled my order and they were to credit my account. I ordered from another site and recieved my battery in four days for only $3 more. A week and a half later I got a package in the mail from them. I tried to call them they put me on hold and then hang up within three seconds. I tried calling from a different phone. I made it through to someone who told me they would take my name and number down and call me back or I could call back because they couldn't keep me on hold. So I hung up and called back. While I was on hold I had someone call from a third number they were answered within five minutes with the person telling them they needed to take down their name and number which we gave them. And they never called back. My phone continued to be on hold for 20 minutes after this before I finally hung up. Completely disgusted with this company.

I had a similar experience. We needed to replace batteries for our server UPS Battery backup system. We searched on their web site and carefully made sure they were the right batteries. We ordered the batteries at a cost of $159.60 and free shipping. When we recived the batteries, lo and behold they were the wrong batteries. When we called APEX, they told us it was not their problem, it was the customers responsibility to make sure they were the right batteries even though their web site listed the wrong batteries. Now isn't that ridiculous. After much arguing, they agreed to take the batteries back, but we had to pay for shipping (~$30.00). In adddition, they only credited me back $135.66, telling us we had to pay for the shipping costs provided with free shipping since we didn't keep the products sent us. All told, it cost us ~$55.00 out of pocket. Needless to say, we purchased the right batteries from another vendor and for a cheaper price. I will never again purcahse anything from these scam artists and tell everyone else they should not also. We are a fortune 500 company and I personally am called to make reccomendation to many other firms concerning purchasing. APEX will obviously feel my rath by making sure I pass on this experience to every contact I have and anyone who asks advice on purcahsing. Since this was for a business, we just sucked it up and moved on. It would cost us more in time and effort to fight them on this, but if this was for an individual, I am sure $55.00 out of your own pocket would be very troublesome.
