Complainant review: Complaint of Discrimination, Abused and Mistreatment 1

SUBJECT: COMPLAINT OF DISCRIMINATION, ABUSED AND MISTREATMENT

Dear Sir,

Please allow this letter to serve as my complaint of discrimination, abused and mistreatment of Mrs. Editha Samas, a Philippines housemaid/servant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Most recently, an eyewitness (Mr. Syed Mujahid Hussain Shah, an employee of the Road & Transport Authority of Dubai) in reference of this matter has contacted your office by phone and has received no response. Since that, the eyewitness and the victim received no further communication from your office.

Please be aware that the victim is now in Immigration Jail in Al Aweer, Dubai, United Arab Emirates due to an issuance of an absconding report filed against the victim by her local UAE national sponsor (Mr. Omer & Mrs. Zohoor). The victim is currently awaiting the hearing of the mentioned matter which is dued on December 26th, 2011. After reviewing the Complaint of Discrimination, Abused and Mistreatment, please kindly contact the eyewitness Mr. Syed Mujahid Hussain Shah so the appropriate actions can be taken.

Subject: Appeal for Justice

I, Ms. Editha Samas 47 years old, Philippine Nationality, hereby provide you with this claim. I worked as a servant for Mr Omer (Mobile No: [protected]) and his wife Mrs. Zohoor (Mobile No: [protected]). I have a friend, called Rima, who asked me to go out as I can have another job for the next Visa. I went to interview and she introduced me to a national friend called Abdullah. Both of them took me to Sharjah to the place of the Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein and got me in troubles and she went back to Dubai.

But nothing happened and Abdullah left the house of the Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein whom I asked to leave the house as I wanted to go home but he promised me that he would give me salary of AED 3000. But suddenly he locked me in a room then he started drinking and, subsequently, he got me laid.
The Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein used to beat me much and I always screamed but there was no one to help me. One day, he beat me hard; a matter that resulted in a break on my neck bone. He took me to the ( Sanjy Medical Center ) hospital -Sharjah, Dr. Afzal checked me, still my bone did not recover and he said to me, “if the doctor asks you, tell him that you fell from the stairs”. I tried to escape but I could not as I was injured and my body was hurt. On November 1st, 2011, the Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein and his wife took me to the Satwa Area wherefrom I could escape.
On November 3rd, 2011 at 10: 30 am, my friend adn an eyewitness Mr. Syed Mujahid Hussain Shah (Mobile No.: [protected]), attached to the Road & Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) as a Public Transport Driver, drove me in his own car to the house of the Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein as the latter called me and told me that he wanted another girl for any price and that if I brought him another Indonesian girl, he would give me my luggage. That is why I and Mr. Syed Mujahid went to the house of the defendant in Sharjah – Nouf. But the defendant was angry with me. He shouted at me and asked why I brought this man (Mr. Syed Mujahid). He attacked me and took my phone forcibly before Mr. Syed Mujahid. Me and Mr. Syed Mujahid have met my sponsor (Mr. Omer & Mrs. Zohoor) many times to settle the matter, but every time they told me to check another job, and we will release your passport to join another job, but once I got a job they request me to pay AED 5000 for the release of my passport

It is a long story. I also asked my sponsor to give me my passport but they refused. On the other hand, all my documents and the Labour Card are in the house of the Defendant: Mohammed Hamid Ali Hussein.

Note: On December 18th, 2011 my sponsor called me for performing the procedures of transferring the sponsorship and when I attended, they delivered me to Immigration jail due to the issuance of an escape report filed against me unduly although I explained all details of the incidents to my sponsor.

Accordingly, I hereby seek your justice in this case in accordance to the procedures of your respected department.
Please be advised that what happened to me is against the human rights and principals of natural justice, moreover nobody listen to my issue nor help me, and unheard condemn.
