CitiMortgage review: foreclosure after fake modification 6

I am presently waiting for the other shoe to drop when it comes to a CitiMortgage property myself. My mom passed away without a will, so things have been tied up in probate. Nonetheless, I have kept CitiMortgage in the loop every step of the way. I contacted them to apply for a modification when I started having difficulty paying the mortgage and was told that I qualified.

Like a lot of other people, I was on a modified payment program (supposedly working towards a modification) for 6 months, but then I was later told that I didn’t qualify and if I couldn’t pay them the full past due amount, the house would go into foreclosure. Since it has gotten to that point, I’ve gotten conflicting stories about what my options are, and nobody seems to be willing to help, or even know if there is an option for me. To add insult to injury, I am CONSTANTLY (I mean like DAILY) getting phonecalls by random representatives who usually start the conversation by asking for my mom, who is deceased. By the time we work up to who I am, whether I am authorized to speak on the acct, and how much is past due, nobody can give me a straight answer as to how I can be helped.

Honestly, I get the feeling CitiMortgage is just trying to snatch the house from under me! They keep referring me to their foreclosure lawyer as if they have no say in the situation.

They CLAIM that they work to help people stay in their homes, but I think that is a crock of crap!

I am about to contact people to let them know about the shady practices of CitiMortgage… TV, newspapers, Congresspeople and whoever else will listen! This has to stop!

We were able to come up with an agreement after, a couple of years of pushing for a home mod. loan. Talked to many different people, sent two sets of applications in. Citicorp lost the first one! After a set agreement and setup payments that we have kept currant for almost 2 years. Now they have turned us into a collection agency for no apparent reason. So even if you get a loan reset up thru them, they will still stab u in the back.

We live in FL where the court has decided that all homesteaded homes going into foreclosure (similar story to yours) is mandatory. We went through all the hoops trying to get a modification didn't work of course. Now we jumped through the hoops to get the mediaton which was supposed to be completed by January 20th. Now we find out by accident (no notification by by court or mediator or Citimortgage that Citimortgage fired their attorney for fraud and now we are back in limbo. Had to move because my job moved, haven't been able to sell the house and totally frustrated. I'm ready to send the keys by FedEx addressed directly to Vikram.Pandit and be done with it. We had credit scores of 785 and 807 respectively (obviously not deadbeats) and they still wouldn't help us. They have no interest in helping because we paid for mortgage insurance through them, so you can be pretty sure they won't lose because they have the insurance if we end up finishing the foreclosure and we are in a gated senior golf community so obviously eventually they will be able to sell the house. I feel your pain and who knows how many others in FL don't even know yet that Citimortgage has fired the lawyer and left them in limbo.

I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE AND LIES FROM CITI MORTGAGE. LETTERS ASKING ME TO TELEPHONE ONLY TO BE TOLD EITHER NO SUCH PERSON OR THAT I CAN NOT TALK TO THE PERSON THAT SENT ME A LETTER ASKING ME TO CALL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 1.5 YEARS AND FINALY AFTER BEING TOLD THAT I WOULD GET MY LOAN MOD PAPERS IN JANUARY THEY CAME IN AUG. AND WERE DIFFERENT.
EVEN WHEN I TRIED TO CALL BACK TO SOMEONE THAT I WAS IN TOUCH WITH THE TELEPHONE NUMBERS WERE CHANGED. THEY ARE A TERRIBLE COMPANY.
