I brought a puppy akc full rights from Tandy Brown of Chimney Mountain Chihuahuas did dna test on the puppy with embark the puppy is pekingese mixed and chihuahua. The father is Ezra and mother Groovy. She would not refund my money or any part of it and continued to say he is purebred and that dna is not accurate. Do not buy from this fake breeder. He also has a roach back and I informed her of this on the day he came her in va to me and she said all her puppies look like that but it levels out later. My puppy is not leveling out it is more prominent now. Tandy refused to take responsibility for the roach back or the mixed breed.

Desired outcome: for the public to be aware

This breeder is a scam I was reserving a puppy and about to send deposit luckily I held off because after requesting payment request form “Tandy” ghosted my calls emails texts after 3 days of of trying to get a hold to make sure my money was going to a legitimate breeder I received an email saying they took next application and ignored my calls and did not provide an explanation after I clearly wanted to reserve her may I add the puppy is still advertised on their site for sale… they expect you to send money to them within seconds without providing photos video of the puppy I don’t even trust the embark testing to be true they seem like a fabricated business I feel bad for the puppies. And they are unethical and are notv preservation of the breed all about making a dollar like a dog mill

As a breeder, I reserve the right to place my puppies in the homes that I believe are a good fit for that puppy. Our adoption application for a particular puppy does NOT reserve that particular puppy. You were never sent any sort of request for a deposit payment so there was no scam.

For some reason, the attachment from the Embark for Breeders website did not show up in my below post. Here is that attachment.

This complaint is just a sad misunderstanding of the science behind the DNA tests like Embark and this reviewer's claim that the puppy she received is mixed breed is false. The Embark DNA test referred to in the complaint is not a test to be used to determine if a dog is purebred or not according to their own website. " From the Embark website:" These results in no way affect the “purebred” status of the dog or its standing with the registration body" (https://embarkvet.com/breeders/resources/canine-genetics-for-dog-breeders/advice-and-best-practices/purebred-as-mixed/). I have also attached a screenshot from the FB page Embark for Breeders with their own words on how their tests are not to be used to determine is a dog is purebred. Also, the AKC does not recognize the Embark test. From the AKC website, "These new DNA tests are designed to determine the primary and secondary genetic heritage of mixed breed dogs, not to certify whether or not a dog is purebred. The AKC believes that the best way to determine parentage of a dog is still based on AKC’s long-standing DNA program and AKC does not intend to use these tests to evaluate a dog’s status as purebred. (https://www.akc.org/breeder-programs/dna/dna-resource-center/conditional-registration/) . The puppy in the photo is a registered AKC Chihuhaua. His parents (Ezra and Groovy) are both registered AKC Chihuahuas along with both being DNA'd through AKC. 3 of his grandparents are also DNA'd through AKC. The puppy's father, Ezra, is currently being shown in AKC shows and is major pointed. In this puppy's 4 generation pedigree, there are 12 Champions with 10 of them being AKC Champions and grandfather who is an AKC Bronze Grand Champion. This person was sold an AKC Chihuahua puippy and she has received an AKC Chihuahua. You can see from the second attachment from the AKC website the puppy's AKC registration.

You did nothing to make it right and luckily i was able to get part of my money back for a mixed dog that I cannot breed . No one wants a mixed breed dog in their breeding program. Be careful buying from this lady she does not take responsibility for sales. Do not pay her by any western union or you will never see one dime of your money back, if she burns you.

My friend has tested 8 dogs and my self 13 not a one but yours tested mixed, they call him cheeks, peke and chihuahua. You can hang on to your assumption the DNA test is not accurate all you want. But if I deter one person from making the same mistake that I did the my job is done.
