Carx Tire and Auto review: Incorrect diagnosis and being negligent in following through with the insurance claim.

April 4, Took my car to Carx (my car service center for several years), because the following codes appeared. "PRL, SH-AWD, VSA System, Emission". Was told I was low on fluids, they topped everything off.

April 6. Took car back bks. it was hesitating and the Codes were appearing again. The mechanic said the liquids were not there and attributed the problem to be the engine as a result of the diagnostic report. The manager said it was not safe to drive the car.

Total charge for new engine and turbo was 8,209.13. The manager explained that my out-of-pocket expenses would be at least $2,500. He said he had experience working with Car Shield and asked that I give him a few days to work details with Car Sheild to cover more of cost so that I would not have a large out-of-pocket expense.

I rented a car that day, and after a week delay, Carx blamed Car Shield, for dragging their feet. Carx manager asked I let him work it, I did, then I called Car Shield, they said they received the estimate on April 13 and they were waiting on Carx because they were to provide pictures of the car, vend #, odometer reading and the failure codes. As of April 24, Car Shield received nothing from Carx. The car sat the 3 weeks, the rental car fee was 620.90. I had the car towed to another shop on April 25, add'l out of pocket cost was 25.92. April 27, they checked the engine and found no problems with the engine and I have been driving the car since.
