sneaky little rules!
I paid care credit on time every month, so I was pretty surprised when I found out that late payment charges of 29 dollars was being applied to my bill each month. I called Care Credit and they explained to me that any payments made the during the first 5 days of a month are counted as payment for the last month. Because I made each payment at the first of the month, I was penalized! I do not feel I was adequately informed of this rule. By implementing this policy, Care Credit managed to gain 87 extra dollars from me. I can only imagine how much money they are making off the rest of their customers with this sneaky little rule.
get rid off!
Hello: my name is "Lannie Hunt", from Bakersfield, Ca. In may, june, july, of 2006, my family and i took a long waited and deserved vacation to the bahammas, to the atlantas hotel in the capitol of the bahamas, nassau. I have a few promotional balance with different end dates on my care credit card. I have been paying all along and my automatic payments have been going to the one that ends the soonest, until today, the first one ends in a week so they applied it to one that ends later forcing me to pay extra to pay off the soonest one. I will call when they open Monday but from last experiences with this company, they will not be able to reapply the payment to the correct charge until next billing cycle. That would mean I wouldn’t have paid in full and they can charge me all the back interest. No way, I will use my line of credit if I have to and pay the whole thing off rather than screw around with this company anymore.
l feel that l am being ripoff everytime my balance goes down payment goes up, what a rip off l'll never deal with care credit, once my balance .
They are horrible so deceptive the "promotion purchases" is a complete scam. Those transactions are treated separately so you should be making multiple payments each month one on regular transactions plus one for the "no interest for a year" transaction! They don't explain it at the Dental Office or Vet just would you like zero interest for one year? This company though the name changed needs to be sued AGAIN!
This company is charging over and above the amount. The account was for 18 months or 24 months from a dentist office. I called them for a pay off balance in july. They gave it to me. Then i got a call after it was paid saying i owed another amount. They were going to charge me interst for a paymrent deferred payment. I spoke to them and they said if i paid them over the phone $292.33, i would be paid in full. Now they say i owe $876.86 again. Then i called back again and they said i still owe them $ 150.00 today i got a bill from them saying i still owe $ 876.86 again ! I am not going to pay them money after i paid them off august 18th 2009
WOW ... this company truly redefines the old "carpetbagger" definition. Unbelievable. In this economy, in this day and time when so many people are struggling just to keep their jobs and their homes Care Credit finds it appropriate in their business practice to charge a 19% recurring interest. So they send you a monthly bill for $22.00 on a balance of $650 but little to so many unsuspecting consumers realize that out of that $22.00 being paid, 75% of it is going towards their finance charges. In the end, a balance financed of $500.00 ends up costing twice as much.
I tried calling this company to resolve this issue ... shortly after I lost my job. I spoke with Kelvin who purported himself to be a supervisor. He offered a 3 month payoff with interest still accruing but said that the account was closed. I had a balance at the time of just of $500.00. This was 3 months ago. I got a bill today of $810.00 ... which was fed by the insane interest charges that they apply each month.
I am still waiting for this illustrious 3 month payment plan that the supervisor, Kelvin, offered but ironically (and typically) when I call no one knows what I am talking about.
I submitted a complaint with the BBB today ... we will see what happens. But I warn anyone out there who is looking for an alternative to pay for the rising costs of "out-of-network" or "out of parameter" medical procedures to beware of Care Credit. Don't get caught with their application and pen in your hand for you will be signing away your savings.
OK, so last month I called in to do a payoff, I was told I wasn't qualified ( because I have never missed a payment...bad customers apparently get the good programs) to do it so I was offered a 4 year program with no interest and a payment of 100 a month. I ACCEPTED because I thought it was a great alternative to what I had. I get my statement and it doesn't reflect any change. I called back and was transferred in a black hole of unhelpfulness. I was put on another "program" that offered a 10% APR (which is normal) for six months..(seriously..how the heck is six months going to help me) I did not ask to be put on this program and it was never offered to me...an "account manager" who said they were bringing my case to a supivisor and they would call me back put it on my account without even talking to me. I found out when I called back because I never received a call back like I was told I would. This is a not good business practice...apparently if they take me off the program they can't put me back on and since this is the program they put me on they can't give me the one they originally offered me. So basically they *peep* *peeped* me behind my back so they didn't have to give me what they originally promised. SO corrupt. I originally began using care credit because I had upper and lower jaw surgery and needed to have some exstensive dental work after the surgery and didn't want to look like an alien because I couldn't afford the work. I used the program and paid they payment the requested..little did I realize they weren't requesting the correct amount for a payoff and because I was a thousand dollars shy of my payoff they put over TWO THOUSAND dollars of back interest back on my loan...:( I could cry typing that. This has been such a horrible experience and Care Credit's lack of support or real help has only made the experience so much worse. I honestly haven't even touched base at all the trouble I have experienced with them.
This card was suppose to be design to help pay for medical expenses. They are a RIP OFF. my monthly min. due is 123.00, they charge me over 100.00 a month in interest for a 4, 000.00 bill. This is an onging thing that you can never pay them off. They include a phone number on the statement to help you pay your bill through consolidtion. Once you sign with their choice of colidation, they refuse to accept it and then they chage you late fees for sending in the amount the consolidator ask...Then they have people to harrass you from 8am to 8;55pm. Most of the people do not speak English clearly; yet have the nerves to threathen you.TOTAL RIP OFF. FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH DO NOT SIGN UP WITH GE MONEY aka CARE CREDIT
I accidentally incorrectly entered one of the numbers on my checking account for the auto pay feature. They never contacted me to tell me my payment did not go through. The first contact I had was with a collections agency telling me I was past due and my interest rates had been raised from the 2-year interest free plan to 30%!
DO NOT USE CARE CREDIT!
This company is a spam! They get you to open the card at 0% for 12 months and they tell u that everything after that is deferred interest! Well if you're not familiar with that term, I'll have to say that it's basically the modern way of stealing money! After your 12 month is over if your balance is not paid in full, they will hit you with a huge ridiculous amount with might even be more than the balance that you owe because they have been charging you interest since day 1 and they have been adding all the interests even if you paid your monthly payment and have applied it to you now! I have been a victim and I have a high credit score so when I called them they told me that I will have to pay that amount because this explanation had been in the fine prints! So I paid everything at once to not hurt my credit ut my advice to you is : That if you have to use your 20% APR credit card to pay for your medical needs do it because at the end, you will be charged less with your credit card than with care credit! Having this card was one of the WORST experiences in my life and I'm sharing this so you wouldn't be a victim!
The complaint is that Ge money sent the entire amount of the credit applied for for dental services that were being considered for work. However my wife did not have the work done by that dentist and the care credit place (GE Money) Sent the dentist the entire amountt and has been harrassing us and also sent bad remarks to our credit scores.
