On Jan 30 we arrived at Calgary Intl airport on Westjet 2247 and had requested wheelchair service for my wife Alice Lubyk who has 2 knee transplants to connecting flight Westjet 652 at terminal D78. After a 20 minute wait a wheelchair arrived and the attendant moved her about 100m down the hallway and stopped. He told my wife that he was going help another person and that he would have another wheelchair for her in 10 minutes. An hour later there was no help in sight. A security person called operations about the situation and in about 20 minutes another person arrived with a wheelchair and moved her to Flight 652 D78 terminal. It was totally irresponsible and unacceptable for my wife to be abandoned in the middle of a hallway far from our destination with no assistance or ability to get to washroom facilities. When did finally arrive at D78 we had little time left for hygiene activities and no time for eating or shopping.
Claimed loss: Compensation for stress, lost time and inability to shop at duty free. This complaint is filed by Alice and Gerald Lubyk who were Westjet passengers.
