Food Basics - Employee

Food Basics
2900 Steeles Avenue East
Assistant Store Manager: Jeff
Assistant Store manager complaint.
What a horrible manager, rude and just always with an attitude.

March 15, 2023 - he was in the spice area where I reached out to grab a bag of garlic and I was told I should not have reached for the package of garlic until he moved out of the way. When I asked why he said something could have fallen and hit him in the head that I should have moved out of the area.
I was in the area when he came and started stocking the spice area therefore he should know better than to start stocking where someone is looking for a product.

Before reaching out to grab the bag of garlic spice I said "let me grab this and I'll be out of your hair"! I'm the paying customer so he should have moved out of my way and not start to stock while I'm looking for a product.
I've also witnessed him being rude and condescending with other customers.
I've worked in the mall where the store is located for years and Food basics seems to always have issues with the managers and assistant managers at this location.

I'm not going back to this location. Horrible customer service

Desired outcome: Ideally I'd like to see a decent person looking after that location and I'd like the store to know that a complaint was filled.

Food Basics - Cashier's racist behaviour

Date: February 1, 2021
Time: 11:30 a.m.
Incident:
1. I tried to check out at cashier #3 when there was nobody in line. The cashier there told me rather rudely that I had to go to another cashier. I assumed that she was closing and went to cashier #6. There were two customers in front of me and I waited.
2. Immediately I saw cashier #3 was serving a Caucasian customer.
3, After I checked out at cashier #6. I went and asked cashier #3 why she served another customer right away after telling me to go to another cashier. She replied rudely that it was because "she had to serve another customer."
4. I talked with the manager after cashier #3 offered no other explanation. The manager was patient in getting information from me and agreed that he would talk with cashier #3. The manager also mentioned that cashier #3 lied that there were nobody in line at cashier #6 at the time she asked me to go there.
5. I am a person of colour.

Desired outcome: Food Basics must be required to have mandatory sensitivity training for staff regarding racist behaviours

You are the racist one. This has nothing to do with your race fool. Your being a person of color has nothing to do with this.
