On March 29, 2021 evening I was at the Petro Canada which I frequent for my gas. The man who was working (sorry I cannot remember his name) he is Indian man shorter with glasses petro ball cap). I am mask exempt because I have breathing and lung issues due to blood clots and I have gone in there a few times without a mask. No one has said anything to me before. I usually pay at the pump so I do try to avoid the station but this night I only had cash. I went to go into the station to pay and he locked the door on me. He made the motion of a mask. I told him many times before and others that work in there I am exempt. Never an issue. He against exemption rules locked me out this night. He was very rude and flicked me off with his hands to leave. I had to pay through a window which was fine but he was very rude. I haven't seen him make any other customers without a mask pay through that window. And I have been there when maskless people went into the place. He cannot do that because I am not able to wear a mask. It is against the covid exemption law. Others who work there let me in too. I am never in when there is more than two people in there. I respect it. I have seen many people besides myself go in there without a mask. So not only did he centre me out but he went against the mask exemption rule for this. I got upset that night so he told me through the intercom loudly and abrupt to never come back and so I have not. The exemption law is there for a reason. I do not play on this. But I cannot wear a mask. And he should not have done what he did. I believe the business can be help accountable for the harassment. And I was embarrassed. We are all going through this and it is horrible to pass judgment on people right now. Where I work if I ask a customer more than once for a mask and he/she is exempt I am written up and I have risked the businesses well being. If you could please email me or contact me about this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
