Sterns and Foster Beware

Five years ago I purchased Sterns and Foster Top of the Line Silver Dream mattress for $3400. Mattress Firm convinced me to spend top dollar to ensure I would get the BEST of Sterns and Foster Mattresses. Much to my chagrin, I agreed. Their strict policy of return made it impossible to return any product without severe penalties, so I continued sleeping at the bottom of the bed near the edge so I could wake up with minimal hurting. At first I thought it might be because I was getting near 50 and should expect aches. But every time I would travel and stay in Hilton's or Hampton's, I would wake with NO pain in any part of my body. Today I was in need of two more mattress sets to purchase for my daughter's new apartment. I called Mattress Firm and Sleep Experts. Both said they had stopped carrying Sterns and Foster for several years because Sterns and Foster were not backing their merchandise. Apparently the pillow top in the products were causing problems. So so UPSET...to know it was NOT me...but the product itself. Beware...and do YOUR research.

I bought a Sterns and Foster Mattress. The mattress is sagging on both sides where my husband and I sleep. I am AGAIN for the third time waiting for a service man come to measure the defect. (third time off of work) Thank you PC Richards! The Sagging needs to be 1" before they will do something about their product. Last time it measured 3/4". My husband and I have our own valley between us and our upper bodies are laying in a hole. You would think we are above average weight the way this has worn. So how do you measure a mattress when the whole top is sagging? If I don't get satisfaction I'm going to court and this mattress will be going with me! Enough already they know about this problem and they are just hoping we give up! Will NEVER buy again a Sterns and Foster!

I purchased a Sterns and Foster Mattress within the last four years and I'm not able to find the receipt. Is there a way to track this because this was a very expensive latex mattress and I want it replaced.

Could you return a car after 5 years? You have a warranty through Sterns and Foster (Sealy) for 10 plus years-use it. You'll get a new mattress-no business would accept a product back after 5 years of use. I cannot believe some things people cry about-get informed-strict return policy? You bought a warranted product.

Are you kidding? It took me 1 1/2 years of trying to get them to honor their 'warranty', and when we received the replacement mattress, it has now sagged on both sides where we sleep, in less than a month. So the 'warranty' replacement is most likely a refurbished, worn-out mattress. Some warranty.
Frankly you have no idea of the reality of dealing with a company that simply does not care, who builds low quality product, and takes any opportunity to avoid honoring their warranty in an honorable way. You need a dose of real life.

i USED TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY Ever since Sealy bought them out these aren't the same mattresess< they are still hand made but not to perfection you're wasting your money buting one of these now. And themark up retain is almost 175% beware.

Sterns and Foster Horrible King Size Mattress

I am in the process of trying to get mine replaced. I have never had such a bad experence in sleeping. We purchased the the "Sterns and Foster" Plush Pillowtop King Mattress set aka Oxford. What and overpriced package of cement. The mattress sags as weveryone elses does here and we have this huge hump in the middle. I literally have to roll uphill to cuddle with my hubby. Its the worst producI have ever spent money on. I call the sale woman the same day and complained that the mattresses we got are not the ones we ordered. She assured me they were and that we had to break them in. Well I think we have reached that point! Its the wrong firmess. I have a fusion in my neck and while we were on the sales floor testing mattresses I made that clear. I like soft pillow soft mattresses. Firm is not an option for me. What we chose was based on her eggin us on to this bedroom suite we were interested in and she said we could get the S&F mattresses along with it for a good price. Only if we wanted the softer mattresses it was a 200.00 upgrade. Well that seemed fair enough to get what we wanted, right? WRONG! bad bad idea. I hate the mattresses and after reading all this I want a refund of my purchase and do not want to be forced to purchase and S&F set of mattresses. I think I should be refunded fully and be able to purchase whatever mattress i feel like. As it will definietly will not be a Sterns and Foster and more then likely not from Raymoor and Flanigan. I am hopely that they will resolve this issue for us, as we paid over 2, 000.00 for those mattresses. I can find a comprible mattress set for that amount or less! I am all for filing a class action suit against this company. Enough is Enough, and with this economy, we cant afford to take that loss. If this company wants to survive this recession, then thye better stand up to the plate and make good on their products. I will come back and keep you posted on my happenings on this. Thanks so much to whoever created this site for all of us to air our frustration. This is helpful in aiding us into the next step should they not make good on their warrenties.

Sterns and Foster Mattress is uncomfortable to sleep on

I owned a sealy which was defective and they gave me in store credit for 7 hundred dollars and a purchased a foam mattress similar to one I slept in a motel at Lexington Ky, I was going to buy a twelve hundred mattress and lady told me if I bought it I could not exchange it or return it so I bought a 3 thousand dollar mattress she said I could return or exchange, so I exchanged it to most expensive mattress in store.wanted to go back to regular mattress and they let me so I bought the most expensive mattress in store which was over 4 thousand dollars, I can sleep on the floor easier than I can sleep on this mattress and mattress ware house refused to let me return it< I would rather have a refund, not in store credit I am disappointed in them this mattress is worthless to me my spouse and I do not sleep in it is so uncomfortable, we cannot sleep one night in it, I have traveled a lt in pass 4 years and any mattress i ever slept in the motels sleep better than this Stern and Foster mattress, they advertise and told me this mattress was sterns and foster, I now found out it is made with or by sealy, Lady also told me if I bought expensive mattress instead of cheap one I could return or exchange it and now this manager guy will not let her, I am so dissappointed, if they don't let me take it back I will go to papers and and report the to the comusers board and let peop[le know how they stole my money and I will get a lawyer to sue them even Iif I have to borrow money to pay my lawer, it is awful to be done like this, would you want a 4 thousand mattress you cannot sleep on and be lyed to, i am really so hurt knowing I could be done like this all i wanted was a good nights sleep is why I paid so much for this mattress, please help me on this matter.

Sterns and Foster mattresses

After 3 years of having a mattress it begain to have sunken sides . One side is 3 in. deep and the other 4 in deep. The pillow top is moved to the one side.I called Levins where I bought it, and they said it is defective. BUT they said it could have no stains, and I tried to clean any little stains, but the water marks from cleaning has remained. What can I do with a defective mattressess that I paid 2000 for? It is definately a faulty mattresses and we can hardly sleep on it! The stains are only from the cleaning, not from anything else! Please tell me what i can do!

mine is the same! try to return and there is a spot, try to clean a spot you don't see and there is a big spot from water!

we have a sterns& foster mattress that has done the same thing big hill in the middle and now the fabric is starting too split we have only had this 3 years what a piece of junk never buy another one of these things serta is a much better mattress they need too do a recall on these things suppose too have a 25 year warranty just try too return it and see what happens
