Secret Of The Himalayan Prices & defects

During our 5th year Anniversary in Miami (We are from Canada), we went for shopping in Aventura Mall.
I usually keep my iphone & immediately check reviews or other options before purchasing products if I have any doubts. Except I did not have an access for the internet at that time.
The salesman showed us the Goji facial peel (99$, which is NOT a bad product) & eye cream (195$). He even showed me their company website. We were going to walk away, of course, he asked us where we were from. I suppose he felt bad. then he said he would give me “Goji facial peel” for free to try, he would only charge me 150$ for the eyecream.
Yes, I bought it. & I don't know why I did it because with the money I could've bought better quality well known products instead of products I've never heard of.
After coming back to Canada, I checked reviews.
I found out that you can buy the Goji facial peel (99.95$)for 34$, eye serum (199.95$) for 46$ on-line.
And the eye cream turned out like this ( Pls, check the image)
How can they sell this kind of product in shopping malls? Very disappointing.
I've always appreciated people's reviews to help me to make right decisions.
And this is my turn.
Beware!

Worst experience ever! Told I was getting one heck of a deal for a christmas present at ~49.00 (which I thought was already overpriced). Threw in a bunch of add-ons (said they were for free) and the total price sky-rocketed to 160$. Of course I complained and the sales rep made it seem like it was my fault for understanding his scam. Have fun filing bankruptcy, you scamming leeches. Your products can be found for 1/2 the price online, your sales staff are rude, and consumers are not to be treated like walking cash dispensers. A JOKE OF A BUSINESS! NEVER SUPPORT THEM

My daughter had the same experience in Calgary at the Northland Mall. She went there to buy some eye shadow (the booth that was there before wasn't there any longer and the mall people directed her to Himalayan Secrets. While there the sales girl talked her into getting a facial and showed her a bunch of products. As well they told her that their products were organic and contained no toxins, which is untrue. She let the sales girl talk her into buying a bunch of products but didn't reveal the prices until she was ready to pay for them. The total came to over $800.00! When she said she couldn't afford it, they told her they were giving her a great deal and "don't tell anyone, it will just be our secret". Feeling obligated, she finally handed over her credit card and the 1st couple times the transaction didn't go through. When my daughter said she couldn't buy them, the salesgirl suggested they charge it as two transactions instead of one. The charges did go through after dividing them up into 2 transactions. Mu daughter is on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay $800.00 for their over-priced products. We tried to take the products back & get her money back but all they would do is take back 2 products and refund her $115.00. They also gave her a $360.00 store credit which is useless to us since we don't plan on shopping there ever again. Do not believe them when they tell you what their prices are - they purposely price them outrageously high so you will think you are getting a great deal when they lower them to whatever they think you can afford to pay for them. I highly recommend you stay away from these people.
I know this because a friend of my son-in-law was also stopped by these people in the Northland Mall. They said they had something for his acne. When he asked how much it was they said $150. He said he would never pay $150, that the most he would pay was $50.00 and they sold him the acne cream for $50.00. Had he be willing to pay $150.00 they would have charged him $150.00. That's how they work!

I had the same experience in Calgary Alberta Mall, south shopping centre. The lady who pulled me n my boyfreind aside told me the goji cream was $200, i automatically told her that it was way too much. She said she would give it to me for $60, ofcoarse being the fool that I am I bought it later I found u can get the same product for $30. She also told me that i must not tell anyone how much i paid the product for. But she did offer a free facial at the himalyan secret...i just wish i checked it out first than i would have threw it in her face about how much cheaper I can get it for the same product!

Had the same experience happen to me at the Aventura mall. Must have been the same sales man. I was pulled into their area in the mall, and he showed me their products, told him I would think about it and return later, he started adding extras and made me feel as though I was getting a really good price. So I did buy..wish I would have check it out on line, could have saved alot of money. The products in the mall are VERY overpriced. Don't buy from them, do your research.

Secret Of The Himalayan High pressure sale; no refund

I consider myself quite level-headed and resistant to scams, but I was no match for the high pressure salesmanship of the staff at the skin care product kiosk, Legend of the Himalayan. First they rope you in with "free samples" of the goji berry tea, the next minute you cannot extricate yourself because you have a palmful of exfoliating granules that you are obediently trying to rub off your hands. One product leads to another, your cries of resistance are met with enticing deals "just for you, " and next thing you know you're whipping out your credit card, partly for the relief of escaping this place. Of course, in your haste to get away, you don't notice the receipts say "no refunds, exchange only." You try to leave, but no, don't you want your free sample? Sit in this chair and try out these even more expensive products that you (didn't know before that you) can't live without. I was only able to leave after I said I'd get fired if I didn't get back to work. I'd really like to return these products, but I risk getting tangled in the Himalayan web again, and I know of another complainant who lamentably spent even more than I did and was not successful in returning her merchandise.

Perhaps the products are as good as they say, but I object to the high pressure sales tactics, and the no return policy; henceforth I will avoid the Legend of the Himalayan kiosk like the plague. Just call me the Abominated Snowed Lady.

Same story for me - although I was a stupid tourist from Britain. I didn't try and get my money back but the rest sounds very familiar. My only excuse was that I wasn't feeling well and was an easy target. I was in the Fashion Mall in Vegas. I do like the facial scrub, the body butter and body scrub so don't feel too awful - but nobody likes to know they could have got it all cheaper elsewhere. The most expensive item I bought was the warming mask and this has caused several red, dry patches to appear on my face. So please test this product on a patch before lathering all over your face and neck! You learn from your mistakes - it is true. I won't be caught out again.

I agree with the humorous account regarding avoiding the Secret of the Himalayan kiosk like the plague! However, I was amazed when having not seen my husband for three weeks he looked as though he had had a face-lift. His face had for years had the appearance of rosacea - very red, inflammed, and scaly. He informed me that he got swept into one of the mall kiosks in San Jose, California. The woman tried to sell him everything under the sun, but he held firm with the gogi peel only. By the time I saw him with his transformed complexion he had used it three times, once weekly. So... I went to the kiosk myself and managed to get away with just a jar of "dead sea salt peel, " which does the same thing as the gogi peel, and the Hydrator eye serum. If you haven't tried one of these peels, they work remarkably - very brilliant in concept. Completely exfoliates without any abrasive ingredients. A facial that did this would cost $100 for one session, so the $80 he was charged for the jar is a BARGAIN. That jar will last him several months. These products are worth looking into; you just have to know how to say NO. :)

DON'T RUIN YOUR SKIN WITH WITH UNTESTED PRODUCTS THAT HAVE CHEMICAL INGREDIENTS. DON'T BELIEVE THE CLAIMS. YOU'RE BETTER OFF SPENDING $1000 AT SEPHORA THAN ONE SINGLE DOLLAR FOR SOMETHING THAT IS TERRIBLE FOR YOUR SKIN AND IS A TOTAL AND UTTER SCAM. LET US ALL SUE THEM. WE ALL DESERVE TO GET OUR MONEY BACK AND SHUT THESE SCAMMERS DOWN.

COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP! I'VE MET TOO MANY PEOPLE SCAMMED BY THESE A-HOLES. EACH ONE WAS SCAMMED OUT OF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. THEY ARE AN ISRAELI COMPANY THAT HAVE SET UP A LARGE SCAMMING NETWORKS ALL OVER THE STATES, NOT JUST IN SAN FRANCISCO. THEY THINK AMERICANS ARE IGNORANT AND WANT TO TAKE ADANTAGE OF THAT. DON'T FALL FOR IT PLEASE! ONLY BUY PRODUCTS FROM WELL KNOWN COMPANIES LIKE CLINIQUE, CLARINS, BIOTHERM, ETC. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM KIOSKS IN THE MIDDLE OF A MALL! ONCE YOU BUY A PRODUCT FORM THESE ISRAELI SCAMMERS, IT'S GAME OVER. YOU'LL NEVER EVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

THEY ARE AN ISRAELI SCAMMING COMPANY THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE PRODUCTS:

"ONSEN"

"PREMIER DEAD SEA"

"HIMALAYA"

AND A FEW OTHER KIOSKS IN WESTIELD MALL SELLING SUNGLASSES. THERE IS EVEN SEVERAL KISOSKS SELLING A FEW OTHER [censor] THINGS.

STAY AWAY FROM KIOSKS AT WESTFIELD MALL, I'M WARNING YOU, THEY WILL SCAM YOU BIG TIME. THEY HAVE NO SHAME. I'M NOT SUPPRISED TO KNOW THAT WESTFIELD MALL IS OWNED BY AN ISRAELI WHO IS OF COURSE SUPPORTING THIS HUGE SCAMMING NETWORK. APPARENTLY THEY ARE NOT IN SAN FRANCISCO, BUT AROUND THE UNITED STATES. THEY THINK AMERICANS ARE STUPID AND ARE TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM BY MAKING THEM BELIEVE THAT PRODUCTS FROM EXOTIC PLACES LIKE THE HIMALAYA, JAPAN, AND THE DEAD SEA HAVE SOME KIND OF MIRACULOUS ELEMENTS FOR THE SKIN. WELL ITS [censor]. THEY ARE A ONE BIG GIANT SCAM AND THAT'S IT. I'M BOYCOTTING WESTFIELD MALL BECAUSE THE OWNER IS A BILLIONARE CROOK AND ALLOWS SCAMMING KIOSKS TO BE SET UP ALL OVER THE MALL. WE NEED TO STATION PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ALL THESE KIOSKS AND STOP PEOPLE FROM APPROACHING THEM. THOSE SCAMMERS MUST BE STOPPED! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.

I was the lucky one. I walked away without succumbing to the saleswoman's charms. Yes, she was very charming.
Attractive and a great talker. Tenacious, for sure. I can completely understand how others would be overwhelmed. I went through the whole demonstration and still was able to excuse myself. I was somewhat entertained by the whole presentation, but realized how incredible a "hard sale' was being pitched. If she'd have toned it down a bit I may well have made a purchase. Still, I just played along with the sales woman waiting to see how far along she'd string me. Without a doubt she would have eventually broke me. Thankfully I know how to say NO. This is a lesson that some of us, myself included, have learned through such painful and costly experiences. I am in agreement: Westfield should investigate this retailer's practices and policies. The fact that they don't offer refunds seems so 'fly-by-night.' I kind of equate the whole enterprise to something like a traveling roadshow: Elixirs to cure all your ills - that sort of chicanery.

Same thing happened to me at Stonestown Mall in May 2009. I am still trying to compare pricing to see how much I got scammed. They used to have a website, but it is no longer available. I was given the same treatment as others have reported; high pressure sales tactics, kept me there for at least 45" to an hour.
I knew better as had been approached at Serramonte Center with another group selling special salt from the dead sea! The SeaCret...I guess I was too embarrassed to report it as I knew it was my fault letting it happen.

I had the same experience at Westfield Valley Fair . (I'm a 28 year old female.) I ALWAYS walk passed those girls (and guys) when I'm at the mall, because they are usually annoying. But for some reason this time I stopped. At first I was amused by the salesgirl's ability to pitch the product, which is why I did not cut her off right away. I felt sympathetic to her because, like me, she is an immigrant. Plus, I just happened to be in a good mood that day and in no particular hurry. Well...I had the same experience as EVERYONE else here. Even though I knew I was being scammed, there was no turning back. I was there for about an hour and a half! Totally UNLIKE ME! But...unfortunately, I was at the mall to ACTUALLY buy skincare products from Sephora. I guess, I was a bit suscpetible at that point. I knew most everything coming out of her mouth was BS, but I didn't know exactly how cheap the products are on Amazon. Luckily, I didn't get as screwed as most people ($65 for two product), but I'm a full-time grad student and don't need to be paying $65 just so I can move through the mall without being held against my will. This is a very stupid practice that Westfield is undertaking. It is annoying to the customers. It MUST BE annoying to the stores located nearby these pesky kiosks. It's bad business. It devalues the mall. (I used live in San Francisco and would avoid that area of the mall like the plague!--Westfield in SF is not doing well as it is. It certainly can't afford people trying to avoid it like the plague.)

I don't like them having my credi card info. I'm weirded out about using the products now, because I don't trust them and have no idea where the hell they come from. You can tell the products are cheap. How the hell are these people not shut down?

I have an idea for anyone who's annoyed by this and has some free time the next time they are at the mall. Next time you have 30 minutes of free time at the mall go back and pretend like you want to buy $1000 worth of products (because you enjoyed the ones you previously bought sooooo much!) Get really weird on them the way they got really weird on you. Slather some of the products on them, tell them how pretty they are, and how white their teeth are. Then, finish it off by gettig angry with how they scammed you. Then, do this everytime you go to the mall.

Ok, yea...that's too much of a waste of time, --- but it would be funny. Too bad I can't just hire a person to go to the mall every day to annoy the crap out of them. Hmmmm...
