I paid $2,000 for teeth aligners from BrightByte, and religiously followed every single condition outlined in their Aligner Guarantee, except for keeping every single one of my 45 aligners. I wore the aligners as directed and did not encounter any problems during the treatment. After wearing Week 1-15 retainers, I was asked to provide additional photos of my teeth, which I did. I then received 16-30 aligners for my bottom teeth. Upon completing the 30 weeks of bottom aligners, I contacted the company saying my bottom teeth were still not straight and sent a picture of my teeth with the retainers on. I was then contacted and asked to send a picture of my teeth again with the retainers on and one with the retainers off. I then received an e-mail saying that the proper authorities were consulted and agreed that my teeth were not completely corrected. The first question I was then was asked was if I had all sets of my aligners. I replied that I kept the next to the last retainer and the last. I was then told that my guarantee was voided and I would have to pay an additional $800+ (a "special reduced rate") to continue treatment to straighten them. Their guarantee states that any failure to follow the steps "MAY" result in additional money being required for treatment. Since I had done everything required of me through the treatment, never encountering any problems with the retainers, and acted in good faith, believing that my teeth would be straight, and being retired with limited income, I am extremely unhappy. And broke. BryteSmile provided a glossy, 8 x 8 instruction manual that came inside the initial box of aligners, and nowhere in this instruction manual was it mentioned that if all aligners were not kept, the warranty would be voided. When I read the guarantee on line, I was not under the impression that I HAD to keep every one of the aligners, IF my TEETH WERE STRAIGHTENING AND I HAD ENCOUNTERED NO PROBLEMS. Please advise if there is anything that can be done.
