This review is garbage that was clearly written to tarnish Blackgold’s reputation.

I am certain this review is false.

I have only used two people/companies to deliver my puppies over the past several years. The one that I use most frequently commonly serves as a reference. She will tell you that my puppies leave my home clean, vet checked, and clearly well-socialized. She will also tell you that she looks forward to the squeals of delight from the new puppy owners as they receive their new puppy from me. I am also in communication with the other company and they would gladly deliver my puppies. They would tell you that there is no truth to these allegations in their experience with me and that they have not “stopped” taking my dogs. There is no other “shipping company” this post could have been written by. Moreover, no company would publicly tarnish the name of their customer and risk losing the business of other customers.

The suggestion that bulldogs could act like “they have never been touched” or “never had much human interaction" is ridiculous. Because the delivery is by Cesarean section, bulldog puppies require hands-on feeding every two hours for the first few weeks of life. That is part of the reason that bulldogs have such wonderful personalities. They spend more time with humans than they do with their own mothers.

Here are a few things potential buyers should know about me:

My puppies are incredibly sought after. I have waiting lists for puppies with certain attributes and sell over 70% of my puppies to other breeders, making me the "breeder to the breeders" in the world of rare colored bulldogs. This wouldn't be the case if my puppies weren't among the highest quality English bulldogs available in the US.

I am well-known and highly-regarded as one of the pioneers of colored English bulldogs. I've produced some of the most famous blue, black and lilac English bulldogs in the US. You name him, I probably bred him.

I breed with tremendous integrity and have some of the healthiest lines of colored bulldogs in the US. I continually edit my lines and retire dogs who are not producing only exceptionally beautiful, healthy puppies. The retired parents are rehomed or continue to live with me. It's the least I can do for them, just as retiring a potentially unhealthy parent is the least I can do for the breed, and for my customers.

I own the parents and grandparents of many of my breeding dogs. Owning multiple generations provides tremendous insight into the genetics of our newest puppies, providing customers as much reassurance as possible about the health of their new babies. It also offers the opportunity to "breed out" genetic issues. (A vet who doesn't know me recently checked out six puppies from various parents and reported, "None of the dogs have entropia. That's amazing.")

Anyone who needs a reference to back up the quality of my dogs and the care they receive may speak with my vet who has worked with me for years and has seen where my dogs live. We even co-own dogs together, which tells you how highly he regards the quality of my dogs and the integrity of my breeding program.

We love our dogs, take great care of our dogs, and nearly every color breeder out there has our lines either directly or indirectly. Most have come back for repeat purchases. This wouldn’t be the case, and I couldn’t have stayed in business if my dogs were anything like what this post suggests.

To the idiot that said that about me and Papa Smurf. I am the owner and Its so sad that you have nothing else to do than talk about people . So sad . Get a life and stop being so jealous . You are probably just mad because I turned you down to breed to my dog becuase your dogs are not worth my time . You arnt either and if thats all you have to say about me I guess thats not too bad . hahahah. I over breed my dog . So funny . How about you call AKC and find out how many litters he had . You would probably be surprised because its not that many . Do you even know me ? Why do you bash me on here Alice doesnt own Smurf I do ? I am not understanding why I got involved in this ?

Socal Bulldogs - Don Colvin - Attorney scamming innocent people by selling severely devefective bulldogs

I bought a $ 2500 puppy from Mr. Colvin in 2008. He was delivered just less than 7 weeks old (earlier than most reputable breeders).Within 2 years he developed severe epilepsy. I contacted Mr. Colvin at that time and he could care less because it passed their 1 year warranty - (3 months). After considerable discussion about their health assurances Colvin did offer a small discount on the next purchase. Like I would consider his offer.

November 2010 our pup developed severe cluster breakthrough seizures (over 15 in 2 hours) and we rushed him to the ER. We then transferred him to a special neurological facility where he spent 2 weeks in intensive care. At the end of treatment for this episode we spent over $ 7500 not including his home meds which cost about $ 60/month. Besides this episode we had already spent over $ 1000 on his condition. After getting him back it took over 3 months of intensive critical rehab at home to see some signs of his original personality. After 6 months he got back to about 90% of his normal self. Since that episode we had to crate him and wake up daily at 2 and 5AM because he lost his house broken abilities. On Sept 2nd we noticed that he became very lethargic and wouldn't eat anything. We immediately took him into the ER. He was diagnosed with a huge tumor on his liver which the Vet felt it was probably cancerous. Even if it wasn't cancer the cost to remove the tumor would be $ 2500 in addition to the $ 1000 we spent for his diagnosis.

We were forced to put him down this weekend. He was 4 1/2. Our family is devastated because our dog was one in a million.

I would not recommend this breeder. Stay away. They profess health over size and show quality but in reality it is all about the Money.

Maybe their not being members of the AKC should have been the first red flag.

I looked at BlackGold bulldogs when I got my Winnie. Every time I talked to them they told me about all these new litters and how I could breed my dog to make money. Fortunately I found out Don and Alison Edward are a big puppy mill & scammers before the purchase. Its very sad. I live in GA and use the same vet as they do Dr. Nunn. The Edwards are in that clinic for breedings every other day almost. This breeder has over two hundred dogs on thier property. They have them hidden in cages behind trees on their property. These dogs get no attention, are poorly cared for in dirty conditions with no A/C.

My family also fell victim to this Black Gold Bulldogs or Celebrity Bulldogs breeder whatever they call themselves now. I bought a preg female Bulldog from an Alison Edward for over 6, 000$ . The breeder name on my dogs papers is Don Edward. My bulldog had kidney failure when I paid for & got her. She lived ONE MONTH after she arrived here. My kids cried for a week. She passed at my vets office the day after I brought her in. We couldn't tell she was in kidney failure. She also had ear mites, rotten gums, horrible teeth and was scared of every human she looked at.
My family still wants another bulldog but we are scared to death to trust the rare colored breeders now.

I bought a puppy from Black n Gold bulldogs last year and he was also in horrible conditions. I did get his shot records & AKC papers but his legs were crippled. My vet said his issues are a result of poor care, cramped conditions & inbreeding. I was broken hearted. I did keep Ham and got him over many of the issues but he has long legs and everyone thinks Ham is a Boxer. I regret my purchase from BlackGold but at the same time I feel guilty because I love my dog and don't regret him. Next time I will do things diff! When will I ever learn
