I have to agree with the comment posted by Renee King 100%. I have been to Southern/Roc Airedale numerous and have always found the dogs well taken care of and clean. Southern Sollars ALWAYS delivers exactly what she promises. I spoke with Diane Johnson myself right after she opened Dixies pen wich resulted in the injuries that later proved to be fatal. When I questioned Diane Johnson why she opened pens (Southern's strict rule not to open pens was ignored), Diane answered, "I was just trying to help." At the time Diane was at Souther/Roc to observe an working Airedale kennel and did not pocess the skills necessary to be working any of the dogs on the property. Trying to attemp helping Southern work her dogs was a huge misguidance in Ms. Johnson''s head at her abiliities to handle such dogs. I have spoken to Diane Johnson on numerous occasions and find her unstable and should not be breeding dogs. That is only my opinion, as for I am not a doctor and cannot say she is really unstable, just appears so. I was at Southern/Roc Sept -08 and personally whitnessed how ill the dog (Dixie) was resulting from the injury. Dixie did diliver pups at that time with extreme difficulty and Southern Sollars used all of her skill to keep Dixie and the said litter alive, which was impressive!

I have just reread what you have asked me; apparently Carol Diane Johnson has no prior knowledge knowledge of working kennels and has been bouncing around the country seeing how others do run theirs. Unfortunately, Southern's was the first on her list where she did more damage in 5 days than Southern has experienced in 26 years out hunting Cougar.
Carol Diane Johnson has written to me several letters after this incident out at Southern Roc Airedale. If I gave the inclination that she was unstable, is only by what she has written herself.
Southern wants nothing in this world to do with her. Diane Johnson was instructed not to open pens and did it anyway. She didn't listen with the the excuse of just trying to help clean up. Southern has been in kennel life for 58 years. She was born in it with her father, a major kennel man himself. Mrs. Johnson is a want to be. She had already purchased a pup from Southern when she had arrived; fully paid for. By the fifth day of her stay, Southern couldn't wait to dump her at the airport. The destruction of the dog, the dishwasher, and Diane's constant babbling was about to drive Southern straight up the wall. (Southern even tried to record a tape for Diane, but Diane couldn't be quiet long enough for this to occur).
Mrs. Johnson, after witnessing the fight that she caused, and said "I want to hunt to cougar". Southern thought to herself, "You're gonna get yourself killed or the dogs!". Mrs. Johnson has no common sense and has tried to publicly humiliate the kennel of Southern Roc Airedale. This is a kennel, that has been written about world wide and is renowned for their hunting dogs.
Mrs. Johnson has to live three life times to do what Southern has done in the last 40 years.
If you have any other questions or would like copies of these letters feel free to contact Southern Roc Airedales.
I don't know what validity you have out here, but Mrs. Johnson is not a dog breeder.

I'm just curious since you seem to actually have spken to her and know her. With no experience do you know why this lady has decided to try a kennel? The right reasons are usually a love and passion grown from experience and a desire to improve. What's the reasoning here? People experienced with animals don't tend to make mistakes like that either so I would question that as well. Do you know her story?
