I ordered a "free" espresso maker from Bennoti, but after the automated call, tried to call the customer service number that they stated in the recording. It was a non-working number and because I dialed the number for Bennoti from the TV ad, I didn't have the number to call them back until I saw the advertisement again, after which I called them to cancel the order. I eventually got through to a "real" person and was told that I called too late and the order was sent the day before. They told me I can refuse the shipment and would only be charged the shipping and handling, which I agreed was only fair. I have tried to contact them to see if they received the unit yet, and when would I be credited ($322.00 was charged to my credit card). After I dialed their number, I was told that they were very busy with the large response and could wait for the next available operator, or go to their website. I waited until I was told this same message 2 more times, after which I was disconnected. This happened over and over again, so I went to their website and wrote an e-mail to them stating that I did had returned the unit and wanted to be credited. I have sent 3 emails and still have not be contacted. BEWARE OF THIS BENNOTI COMPANY AND THE "FREE" ESPRESSO MAKER, BECAUSE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VIRTUALLY NON-EXISTENT! Mike in Seattle.
I purchased the Bennoti espresso maker and was very excited when I received the machine. I immediately tried to make express and the machine leaked coffee and water all over my counter top. I was able to access Nasser, the company owner and he was very anxious to help. I returned the machine to him, at my expense, and was shipped another machine. It also leaked but at that time customer service answered my emails and sent me a pick up tag and I returned to them the machine and the coffee pods. They received on Jan 10th but I have yet to see any credit. Their customer service does not answer. The recording tells you to email them and that they will answer shortly...they have not answered 5 emails. I paid them $171.60 for nothing, no one can afford that nor should any company treat their customers with such disregard.
WTF did you think was going to happen?!? Anytime you feel like buying some crap advertised on TV, and it sounds like a good deal, try this first:
Google the name and add the word "scam" in the search criteria.
I am a Canadian and I purchased a starter package machine and coffee from www.bennoti.ca in Toronto and I received my merchandise within 48 hours from my online purchase. I registered my machine with them (they give a 1 year warranty)and they also can service and repair the machine if need be. Great coffee and the espresso tastes better (more creamier and hotter) than the office Saeco machine. I have had a good experience. They have answered questions with their on line chat. Maybe the Canadians are doing something right! I am very surprised by the negative complaints in the US, not the case here in Canada.
This post is as of 10/08/2009-I've had my "as seen on TV"Bennoti machine and coffee since 2007-in fact I ordered 2 more later for my son and daughter. The machine is magnificent.Perfect shots every time and the steamer is better than any home machine I have owned including my Rancilio Silvia. I am a former Coffee House owner and I can't say enough about the Bennoti machine as well as their coffee. Granted the customer service is sometimes hard to get to but the few issues I've had with ordering more coffee have been taken care of right away. My first machine stopped working after about 3 months (I don't know why) and Bennoti sent me a new machine within 7 days no questions asked. My second machine has had no problems in 2 years-I've got my money's worth. All I can say to the disappointed customer is "you shouldn't have cancelled-you would have been very happy with your Bennoti. C.Thornton, Texas
