They have built a search engine that interrupted my normal hotel inquiry, leading me to believe I was booking with the hotel directly. This was on April 3, 2023.
AFTER I completed the reservations, and received the confirmation email, I saw:
1. The rate was not the rate I agreed on, but higher.
2. Fees and taxes had been assessed that equaled MORE THAN % of my rental. The fees for me are over $500.
3. A non refundable provision was added in the receipt.
I have just read through countless complaints on this site where people have alleged like me, they received no notice. What seems clear is regardless of whether the notice of fees and the non-refundable policy was actually posted, if it was posted, it was done in such a way that consumers were able to navigate through their reservation site without everyone being aware these policies existed.
Something must be done.
I have filed with the Attorney General's office of Florida where they are headquartered. It is a quick and easy process. I am providing the link here.

(1) their site "popped up" while you were trying to make a reservation directly with the hotel. (2) The rate advertised was not what you got. (3) There was no advance warning of the fees. (4) There was no advance warning it was not refundable. And please include (5) the fees assessed were more than 50% of the actual reservation.
For my reservation, the fees are $530.62 and their fee is an additional $114 and they couldn't confirm to me that the hotel actually had my reservation.
I am upset because these fees are outrageous and there is no confirmation that I have an actual reservation. I did call the hotel but due to the time change, they are closed for now. The hotel direct booking cost per night is less than $300 and I ended up paying more than $450 per night. Somehow this company needs to be shut-down for fraudulent services.
Thanks for letting me vent. Maybe if enough people complain, we can get some sort of consumer protection.
Desired outcome: I want a complete refund so that I can book with the hotel directly. I would be willing to forfeit their $114 booking fee, but I want to get the rest of my charges credited back to my CC account.
I have had a similar issue with Reservations.com. To keep it simple, they are the worst reservation site I ever used. AVOID THEM.
Total: USD $398.78 (including taxes and fees) $0.00 refund for cancelling 5 days in advance. Event was cancelled due to Hurricane Hilary. Again, AVOID them, and there are numerous other complaints against them.
