A year ago my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia so I had to make a place behind her home to care for her. I have worked every single day since to make a home out of a 14x40 cabin that came with nothing but spray insulation. In August I lost my job and have been struggling to pay the $1,330 monthly note. 2 weeks ago I spoke with an angel at Barn Management Group and she offered me a payment arrangement until I found a job., I was so relieved I honestly cried. $250 a week or as much as I can close to that every week. I couldn't thank her enough. Fast forward two weeks, I call in to make my payment and was told I had 30 days to pay $5,200 or repossession of my home. They offered to go ahead and get me to send pics of the cabin cleaned out and agree to repo so that I didn't have to deal with any further legal action. I was in shock. They literally created and offered me the payment arrangement and 2 weeks later they want to come take my home away and said they would be bringing a law enforcement officer with them when they did. When I asked why $5200 anyway, they explained that 1300 was for a payment that isn't even due til the end of this month on the 29th. That doesn't even make sense and when I asked to speak to a manager she said there was no Manager and I couldn't talk to anyone else. they are the legal department. Then she tells me if I tried to sell the building to pay off the loan I would be arrested and put in jail. Obviously I was mortified and told her I would be posting my story online about the way they are treating me and she hung up in my face. So disappointed. I am not giving up on Barn Management Group upholding the payment arrangement they offered me and doing the right thing here.. The way they have talked to me and treated me has been completely unacceptable on so many levels.

Barn Management Group, Poplar Grove Rentals, is aware that I lost my job on August 12th, 2024. I have paid them a lot of money over the past year that i've had the cabana and cabin, but have struggled recently since being unemployed. I purchased this cabin to put behind my mothers home to take care of her after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia. Not exactly my dream to live in a 560 square ft cabin on my mothers property but ive spent the past year making this shell into my home. i work on it everyday and have put a lot of money and countless time into it. So, two weeks ago i talk to Barn Management Group about my financial struggles but how im interviewing every week and feel i will be back to work very soon. For the first time that ive ever spoken to BMG, the woman was actually nice. They are normally the meanest people, you cant even imagine. i also explained I just filed for unemployment, doing everything i could to resolve this terrible situation. She offered me a payment arrangement of $250.00 every week until i went back to work. Then i could pay more to get caught up. She even said if I couldnt pay the $250.00 just make a payment of what i could because they understood my situation and hoped I found a new job soon. i could breath again and i was so thankful. I swear i had tears coming out i was so happy...Then I talk to them today and it was my worst nightmare. Not only did they say they would not be holding up to the payment arrangement THAT THEY OFFERED ME, THEY SUGGESTED I JUST TURN OVER MY BUILDINGS (ONE BEING MY HOME) TO AVOID FURTHER LEGAL ACTION. That if i would just clean it out and send them pics, they would arrange pick up. Otherwise I had 30 days to pay $5,200.00 with in 30 days. When i asked where that amount came from she said past due + a payment that is not even due yet of $1300.00. I said so if i pay $3900.00 past due in 30 days you will still repo bc of the payment not due til the 29th of this month? that shouldn't i have 30 days to make that payment? That seems illegal to me, and i keep explaining that none of this is right when two weeks ago they were so eager to help me and offered me an arrangement. For some reason all this lady wanted to really discuss was reposession. I got the feeling that they decided they wanted my property back and that was just that. I asked to speak to her Manager and she informed me there was no Manager that they were the legal department and they were the only people i could talk too. i finally told her that before i let the repo happen i would sell my home and cabana and pay off the properties. just to see what she would say. She said she would have me arrested for theft and i would go to jail. I was so disgusted by this point i told her i was going to the internet to tell my story and see how others felt about the way they offered me an arrangement, then out of no where, cancelled the arrangement on me and threatened to repossess my home. SHE HUNG UP IN MY FACE!
i would also like add that i have been dealing with this people for over a year and they have been the most rude, ugly, nasty, hateful people i have ever had to deal with. Except the one lady who gave me the arrangement and another guy named Jerry. Other than that i don't know how so many hateful, smart ellic people could work for one company. It is sad and makes me want to pray for them all. So i was completely shocked when i pulled up their website and read they are family owned and serving the community with a beautiful photo of a family.. What a fraud! They are nothing like their website presents them to be. And i am going to fight to get my arrangement back from 2 weeks ago. They made it, they should uphold to it...
