I attended Red Rooster Altona Meadows today around 11am. I had requested some stuffing to be added to my order if possible, as the last time I bought a 1/4 chicken and chips purely for the stuffing, but when I got to work realised there was no stuffing at all in the order. It was a simple request. The lovely young man asked the manager - who was behind the wall - and to my utter discomfort he rudely stated that stuffing only came if bought with roast chicken. I understand completely if a request is refused, but the abruptness of the managers tone and language was disgusting. There was a problem with the till and the manager had to come to the front to fix it. I was appalled at how dirty and unkempt his clothes and hair were. He is serving food, not wearing any hair protection and his appearance was dirty. He made no eye contact with me at all, and I was the ONLY, person in the store, he didn't speak a word to the two young staff, was aggressive in his mannerisms and then stormed off. I asked the young staff if THAT was the manager? They nodded yes. I looked around the store and it was extremely dirty. The floors were dirty, the counters not cleaned, the tables not cleaned, the baby HIGHCHAIR was filthy and dirty glass. Despite being an empty store and not extremely busy.

My first job during school years was in a similar chicken fast food shop. My manager was a lovely Indian man, Frank, who taught me everything I needed to know about money, customer service, cleaning and personal grooming. Our shop was always shiny clean, our uniforms always clean, hair and nails groomed and were all proud of the shop and our jobs.

This manager was rude to the only customer in the store, me, and rude to his 2 very young staff. He was sloppy, unhelpful and had a terrible attitude. The atmosphere in the store was icy. I felt extremely sorry for the male and female staff, as they are not getting any quality mentoring from this very rude, dirty man.
