In January I filed a complaint with the AZ attorney generals office regarding my 94 year old mothers treatment in an Honor Health Hospital on October 16, 2022. Complaint #[protected]. The new attorney general is giving interviews saying that elder abuse investigations are a top priority in her office. I am a former police office and know that criminal violations occurred. I wrote a lengthy statement and included photos, hospital records etc. It was clearly going to take some investigation such as obtaining hospital records, doing interviews etc. That was apparently too hard as I immediately got a letter saying they were referring me to the AZ Department of Health as they would be the best option to file the complaint. The health department does not do criminal investigations. I emailed the AG’s office and got no response.
I then filed the complaint with the AZ Department of Health. Complaint Intake #AZ00191668, Investigation #IZZ211. An investigator called me name Alisha Detorie (sp?). She said a she would be doing a full investigation and it could take 4 weeks. Two days later I got a letter from their office saying it was complete and unsubstantiated, unverified by evidence. They clearly didn’t do an investigation either in one day. I called and left a message for her and she would not call me back.
These people are supposed to be protecting us. There seems to be no recourse when they fail.
Desired outcome: They both need do their job and do a full and complete investigation! Apparently no supervisor is supervising the investigators and reviewing their work.
