May 2017 - Aquaguard Foundations, installed five helical piers underneath a deck and sun porch that were settling at 8203 Pine Cone Ct. Villa Rica GA 30180, for a cost of $5,410.25. This work was to be covered by a lifetime warranty. The decking and sunroom continued to settle in the intervening years, showing gaps in wood, caulking and overall structural attachment issues.
May 2021- Two representatives came out and said jacks were needed under certain sections of the deck to lift the deck back into place but, in their opinion, the piers had not moved. They did say, however, that Aquaguard sold and installed jacks that would fix the problem. In order to prove that the piers did not move, they placed thumbtacks on the posts supported by the piers as a benchmark and said they would be back in a few months to check for any settlement.
July 2021- A certified letter was sent to Aquaguard filing an official warranty claim for the lifetime warranty against settling. Received no response in reguards to the letter, nor did anyone from Aquaguard come back to check the thumbtack benchmark.
August 2021- A follow up email was sent asking, again, for someone to get in contact regarding this matter. Received no response.
September 2021- Hired a contractor, Ramer Renovations, for a second opinion on the ongoing settling problem.
October 2021 - Ramer Renovations wrote a letter to Aquaguard stating that in their professional opinion, the structure had settled approximately two inches on the west end of the structure. Received no response from Aquaguard.
To date, have not heard from Aquaguard regarding the lifetime warranty claim.
Desired outcome: For Aquaguard to honor the warranty and fix the problem.
