American Furniture Warehouse - Glendale AZ review: Leather motorized reclining sofas

We loved our very stylish and beautiful new electric reclining leather sofa and loveseat when we furst purchased them in August 2022. We had such a great customer service experience when purchasing our new furniture.

We just truly wish the Follow-Up Customer Service at American Furniture Warehouse was just as great in the Service Department when we needed repairs on the electrical motor on our brand new furniture. But, that has unfortunately has not been the case at all. We have had our new furniture in our home for 8 weeks now. One of the reclining motors in our sofas stopped operating the first time that particilar recliner was operated, which was on Day 3 since they were first delivered. The leg lift was stuck in the Recline Posistion for the next 4 weeks. There were wires in the reclining motor that were severed. It took 4 weeks to get a technician to our home. A new part had to then be ordered. The part finally arrived to our home. It then took three days of trying to get hold of Customer Service to help us with getting another Service Call Appointment to have the new part installed. We will now wait for our service appointment day to take place in the next two weeks.

We were told by customer service during week 3 that we did not have the option of returning the new sofas because we had them too long now. We had problems with the furniture since day 3 and reported the problem right away.

We have $3,500.00 leather reclining furniture that has not worked during the entire time we have had it. And, we have waited for repairs from the Service Department the entire time we have had the furniture.

After the 1st Service Visit for the diagnosis on the mechanical wiring, the 2nd recliner within the same sofa began making loud motor noises, which it was not making before the service call.

At this point, I don't know whether to say that we will never purchase motorized reclining furniture again, or never purchase from American Furniture Warehouse again.

* what we have learned from our negative experience, is if your new furniture breaks right after purchase and delivery, a customer is very much stuck with that defected furniture they purchased from American Furniture Warehouse.

I've purchased quality furniture many times before in my adult life over the last 35 years, and this has never happened to us before.

We are very frustrated and feel we have been completely disrespected and devalued as customers of American Furniture Warehouse. We will not be recommending American Furniture Warehouse to any of our friends or family.
