I have known Alexia since 1992. I saw first hand when she was railroaded by a local tv station with a great sensationalism story that ran for a week. How this story is still alive 17 years later defies logic other than if it is on tv or the internet it is true. That being said Alexia was never charged with any sort of animal abuse not even a misdemeanor. Common sense dictates a lot of pressure was applied to the prosecutor to file something and that didn't happen because in the end legally there wasn't any truth to support allegations in a court of law. How did the Ohio Vet Med Board then do as they did? Administrative boards are not bound to true beyond a reasonable doubt. They can pretty much do as they please as far as a standard of proof or lack there of. Interesting in this case the board had offered Alexia a 30 day suspension which she declined and then once the tv stations were all over the board they made it a life sentence with no new evidence!
So who were the actual criminals in this? #1 MC was charged with extortion against Alexia and gross sexual imposition. #2 TB was charged with felonious assault.
Why am I posting this now? In April 2014 an individual posted on CB the board's "findings" of 17 years ago. CB was no place for that since this individual had not received any service from Alexia and according to CB that's what it is for. Since then that post has been marked "RESOLVED". However people like to talk and I thought the least I could do is to provide some insight into this story. Why people can't people leave Alexia alone to live her life as a contributing member of society and mother to 4 children? Please be aware if you choose to post in response to this you had better make sure your facts are correct.

I have known Alexia for the last 5 years and have helped with her humane horse organization, savedfromslaughterhouse. You people who say you love animals why don't you get out there and do something positive to help saved pets from being killed just because no one wants to care for them.

I have been a neighbor of Alexia's for over 20 years. I see how she treats all of her animals and her children. Both live lives filled with love and utmost care. The animals have fresh produce every day-grapes for the chickens and peacocks, apples and pears for the horses, carrots for the donkeys, greens for the tortoise etc. Move on people especially when you don't have inside knowledge and/or know the person as she is

I don't know who else spends over what must be at least $10, 000 of her own $ every year buying and saving horses from going to slaughter. People ought to get a life and do something positive with their life instead of continuing to hound Alexia 17 years after a media blitz. Most people who are felons don't get treated nearly as badly. Alexia never had one single abuse or anything related charge filed against her. No misdemeanor nothing and that's because a charge would be baseless. Don't you think the prosecutor was under a lot of pressure to do so? You bet but they know what you need to win a case and there was no real evidence nor testimony from any of the pet owners who testified. There are plenty of dogs and cats out there to help if you can't help horses. Just like with kids, instead of buying your pet "kid" every bone and accessory out there how about volunteering time or giving $ to animals in need?

I was there back in 1997. What happened to Alexia was one of the most screwed up deals I have ever seen in the practice of law. Alexia was thrown under the bus by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Board and the media. It is a real shame that even today people bring it up to Alexia when they try to take advantage of her desire to help sick, injured or abandoned animals. In the last month alone I know of two different people who acted nice to Alexia because they wanted one of the horses Alexia rescued from slaughter. When Alexia refused, both of them showed there fakeness and got nasty by bringing up the 17 year old untrue news. Wow people you ought to be more than ashamed. I wish people were like money so you could hold them up to the light to see if they were real
