A&J Home Contractor LLC, Father And Son Handyman Or AJ Handyman
Father And Son Handyman Or AJ Handyman Absolute Criminal! Should be in Prison! Ortley Beach, Lavallette, Toms River New Jersey

Joe Janas, Joseph Janas, Roseann Janas, or any of his children are criminals! He was working as a general contractor or handyman under the name of Father and Son. or AJ Handyman. He has re-opened under the name .A&J Home Contractor. DO NOT EVER USE THIS MAN OR HIS FAMILY FOR ANY WORK! He will steal your money and never finish a job.

He has numerous lawsuits against him. His son is currently acting as the owner of this company, but Joe Janas is still running it. He has to use his son because his name is GARBAGE! Joe Janas is not even his real name! He had to change it after a conviction of theft by deception!

He has several white vans with AJ Handyman on them and a brown F-150 or F-250 with AJ Handyman on it, if you see these vehicles...run!. Do not ever use him for anything! If anyone is looking for him, he lives at 408 6th Ave. in Ortley Beach NJ 08751. If you cant find him, he has another home in Naples FLA. Please help put this man in prison!
A&J Home Contractor's present address is 1749 Hooper Avenue, Ste. 204, Toms River NJ.

The State of NJ says that Father and Son's Handyman is owned by Roseanne Janas. Rosaeanne Janas is just a front for Joe Janas' contracting schemes as he actually runs the business. If you research Joe Janas you will see he previously owned a construction company in North Jersey that was shut down for illegal practices. Mr. Janas was convicted of "Theft by Deception" by the court of law (Newark Court) for obviously scamming others out of their money. I guess putting everything in his wife's name helps him elude the State and protects his new business from previous law suits.

He treats all of his employees like garbage (I know this for a fact as I was employed by his scheme for several months). The men he employs are competent but because he does not know how to schedule work, order material, or treat his employees I am quite sure you will hate them too after a short while. I can't tell you how many complaints the office receives on a daily basis from his customers. It's unreal he's still in business.

You should never do business with this man. He can't run a business to save his life. If he's talking, he's lying. He will tell you over and over that he is sending someone to your home to begin or complete work when in all actuality he is just trying to pacify you. Usually your job will begin the minute you threaten to notify the authorities or the Better Business Bureau. I have seen him take deposit after deposit even though he knows he will not be able to complete the work as scheduled in the contract. He takes deposits to cover the expenses and payroll he incurs for the previous week. He even had an employee take a customer's $5000 check to a check cashing place because he couldn't wait a few days for it to clear. I believe the Catholics call it "stealing from Peter to pay Paul". He will take your contract and deposit just to pay his bills without any concern for the timeline stated in the contract.

I urge anyone who is reading this to choose a different contractor for any work that you need done. His estimates are usually ridiculously high because he only wants to do work for a sucker. If you agree to his prices he knows you are a dummy and he can get over on you. He is a SMOOTH TALKER and seems to be one of the nicest people you have ever met. Enter into a contract for work and see how quickly this changes.

I also worked there and all comments are true he uses his drug addict son who does horrible work who is dumb as a nail to screw people over. He is also a womanizer he has dumb little girls working for him and he treats them like fake gold. Please don't do business with him he and his son are not capable of doing 90% of the jobs they take on. And they use immigrants to do there work who are rude and dumb. He (joe) will make the job sound good but it's all fake and they should be in jail. So please don't be a victim to this crime.

According to a reviewer on BBB.org, this is the same person that now works for Gulf Stream Restoration (though he introduced himself as the bosses' "partner". I had a REALLY, REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE as well that haunts me everyday and I wish I never met Joe. HomeAdvisor referred me to him and I will never use them again after he somehow managed to con them into removing the bad review. If Gulf Stream Restoration harasses me again, I will show the building inspectors what he did and enter a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. What you described sounds EXACTLY like the person I knew:

"He is a SMOOTH TALKER and seems to be one of the nicest people you have ever met. Enter into a contract for work and see how quickly this changes. "

I suspect if HomeAdvisor really knew this person's true past, they would immediately disassociate themselves with him. HomeAdvisor is probably his biggest source of income these days. If you can prove what you've said, the best way to get him is to send that information to HomeAdvisor before he does anymore damage.

I'm just glad someone will listen. No one should have to pay what I did and then spend a fortune again paying others to undo all the numerous code and safety violations. Finally some justice!
