AAA Auto Club Roadside Service review: Roadside service tow service

Yesterday 8/27/2022 I had the misfortune of a transmission failure on my 1990 Chevy C2500 single cab 2-wheel drive truck with a utility bed and lumber rack.

After calling roadside service to arrange as tow, the tow truck driver informed me My vehicle looked like a commercial vehicle so he could not, would not tow it. Mind you I am sitting in the right-hand turn lane on Saturday eve around 7:30pm. not a safe place to be right around dusk. I asked him to contact his company to send a truck that would. he simply said call aaa. So, I did again they sent a truck out knowing full well what I was asking to tow and yes again the driver refused to tow me. It is now approximately 9:30 pm two hours have passed and aaa can't get a truck to tow me in a 3/4-ton truck! So, I have my wife call because my phone is running out of charge. They continuously leave me and my wife on hold for long periods, then have no answer, at all. they just basically said so sorry bye. So, I called a large local outfit here I town and I was easily able to call and schedule a tow and the drivers laughed at aaa and shook their head that they would not tow a 3/4-ton truck. I have been a aaa roadside member for several decades, that ended yesterday evening, not only do I emphatically not recommend then for any service at all, But I would like a criminal investigation into their customer dealings looked into, and the fact that they can abandon their own long time loyal customers in dangerous situations on the road while they decide if they want to answer the phone or accept a call for help from their customer's for no other reason than they can. because they are a large corporation. I spent 7 hours on the side of the road in the city of Orange because of their incompetence.
