The therapists are not treated with respect by the owner...even though you couldn't have a massage facility without them. These therapists are all very skilled licensed professionals who chose Zen because of the location. As one of these therapists, I can attest to how difficult it is to give someone a great massage when morale is low and the owner is skimming our profits. Would you want to receive a massage from someone who is frustrated because their paycheck was wrong once again? Or because they just witnessed once of their co-workers being completely disrespected? Or because you are the 6th massage they've done without a break because the front desk screwed up the schedule? If you want low cost massage, go elsewhere. And if you decide to come, please tip your therapists well. It might be the only decent money they make that day.

I go my first 1 hour massage at Austell location. It was decent, but very light touch.
I have been having professional massages for 30 or 40 years, and in my experience a swedish massage should be done
with firm pressure, into the muscles. It should be done as hard as the client wants. No, it is not deep tissue, and does not
provide pinpoint pressure into certain therapeutic areas, but if I ask for more pressure, I should get it. I felt like I only got
a fingertip massage, with the hands just sliding over the surface of my body.
The therapist was decent and polite, but the person acting as cashier added a tip to my debit receipt. . I said clearly to put $5 tip on the card., and the receipt shows a $10 receipt. If they want a $10 receipt they should earn it. I don't like being cheated.

I just returned from Overland Park Ks where I visited Zen Massage in Olathe. KS. The entire massage experience was absolutely wonderful! I told the receptionist I lived in the Atlanta area and would love to visit a location there and she mentioned the Austell Ga location. After reading the reviews from the internet, which included this site, I won't booking a massage at this location. The concept of a $39.95 massage is great - at this price you don't expect any frills - but you do deserve exceptional customer service and friendlessness and above all cleanliness. I hope this location has improved and does not continue to tarnish this chains reputation.

I am an experienced therapist who got hired here but didn't take the job! Horrible payscale, Independent contractor status;etc. The therapist that I worked on told me I need to always start clients face down! Obviously she uses the cookie cutter approach and doesn't look at each client as unique! Then she couldn't even handle some basic stretches! Then told the manager (who had a the personality of a wall) that I talked too much, when all I did was respond to her chattiness! I'm sorry but I'm used to giving a full hour session (not 50 min) and getting paid accordingly! Not to mention the room I was in couldn't even fit the massage table in it! Place was dirty and very negative vibe! Gloria is in the wrong profession and is CLUELESS! Not to mention when I had my tryout the therapist showed up ten min. Late! Therapist's don't waste your time! The type of clientelle that a place like this attracts is degrading to our field! They actually give you a sheet that states the "benefits of being an Independent Contractor." Benefits for them not having to take taxes out! Shame on you ZEN MASSAGE! You are just like the other wal-mart massage businesses! Using your therapist's while your managers know nothing about alternative healing or bodywork! Massage Luxe will be in Atlanta shortly and is going to make you all look aweful!

It's like this Zen behind the deskees! If you're not informing me of something that fellow staff informed you about me, that could possibly cause me to have a run in with the law, or any officials, just put it in the Cold Case Files! Like Fantasia said on The American Idol, '' Let em talk''! S***h, thank you for the fame!
G****a, thank you for the re-up in my status! Church!

As the owner of Zen Massage Center-Austell, I am extremely disappointed at the recent comments and accusations being brought against my business by former staff members. These malicious attempts to discredit our Zen Massage Center-Austell family are bogus and misleading. At Zen Massage Center- Austell, we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction in a safe, clean, and peaceful environment. Up until January 25, 2010, we have not had any negative reviews or comments during the 2 years we’ve been in business. We have loyal clientele who come every week to receive our affordable high quality massage services. Zen Massage Center- Austell is not closing after Valentine’s Day and will remain open for many years to come. We have recently acquired a new management team and are truly excited to have such a professional, caring group of people with an extensive background in customer service. We have a positive group of Massage Therapists with years of knowledge in massage therapy ready to provide you with a remarkable massage experience. At Zen, we pride ourselves in offering affordable massages with no contracts or membership fees and are proud to call Austell, GA our home. Thank you to all of our loyal customers who have continued to support us throughout the years. We look forward to providing you with a great massage experience and welcome both old and new customers to the Zen family.

Toomuchluck may be [censored]outofluck after Valentine's Day! I hear the owner is trying to make what she can with gift certificate sales for the holiday then closing the place for good. The therapist are dropping like flys to find a job before they are left in the cold like the clients will be.

I've had many massages at high end spas and Zen Massage is one of the best! I am not sure what happened with some of the above negative comments but I've NEVER had a problem with my massage services here. I took my mother here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it! I tell all of my co-workers and friends about it and they think I am God sent because they absolutely love Zen too. I always have a wonderful and relaxing massage and the decor and environment is very relaxing. I will continue to be a customer for life!

I am shocked! I always have had a great massage at this location. I have very high standards as far as cleanliness is concerned and I have never felt like the place was dirty. I think the atmosphere in the center is very calm and peaceful.

Wow! Was just reading through all of this because I had a massage at Zen Austell about 3 months ago...the therapist was great but I just couldn't go back, it just felt dingy and cheap. The decorating was nice but it did not have the pristine, fresh, clean atmosphere that I look for. I was a repeat customer at a Zen in another state. The difference is night and day. You would never know they were the same franchise. I am not surprised to hear that the blankets are never washed, etc. Ewww!

I thought the place had already shut down because I drive past on my way home from work and it never looks like they are open.

This establishment leaves much to be desired. I've heard the negative comments before about this place. Try driving by at night and the place looks like the only thing missing is a red light in the front window!

It is so dark that it looks closed! I was advised the owner was told about the negative comments at night and chooses to change nothing. One can only asume the owner likes the look of this business and that it doesn't concern him/her how any customers view it.

I have been going here since they opened and everytime I go here I have a wonderful massage experience. The sheets and blankets are always clean and the place smells great! The bathroom light does seem to have a short in it from time to time but it still works all of the time. Lobby, bathroom is clean, and customer service is top knotch. Maybe the person complaining is a former therapist who was fired and is bitter because of that. This place gets my vote. Can't beat the service or the price!

These men and women work hard! Massage therapy is a very physical job. The turn over rate at this location is unbeleivable. Every time I call to request someone i had the last time I was there they are no longer working there. The only one I could count on to direct me to a good therapist was the lady at the front desk now I am told she is gone. I am sure she was not the owner. Makes massage envy look good to me.
