This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I was called by Violet Pelex on the 3rd Aoril 2023 who pretended to be a government employee. She claimed to be identifying citizens who are over charged on their loans and accounts. She gained access to my husband's information without permission. During the conversation I noted he had opened his information because she gave me his date of birth. I gave her my ID number after she asked for it. She checked my accounts and told me I was overcharged and that that they will write to the institutions I owed that my monthly installments be reduced. I got another phone call from their head office asking me to confirm how much I owed on one account I had not listed. She told me to enquire from the bank because I was going through debt review. I explained that I was given false information and I do not want to go through debt review. She hung up the phone. I wrote four emails requesting cancellation of the debt review. They asked for my ID number in order to help me. I made a follow up on the progress, they have not responded. Kindly intervene as I do not want to be on debt review.

Desired outcome: Cancelled successfully on debt review

The same thing happened to me this month. In January 2024 I bought an np200 financed by mfc. On the 3rd March yma consulting called and promised to help reduce my installment. I was happy especially because the consultant said he is speaking on behalf of Nedbank.

I saved their number.

The next time when they called me, the words " Debt Review " reflected on the screen. That was when I realized that I was being put under Debt Review.

I wrote to tell them that I am not interested in debt review. The response was that I must pay cancelation fee.

The next thing I saw an approved debicheck on my banking app.

I never approved the debicheck but it looks already approved.

I never asked them to put me on debt review. I never accepted any contract, verbally or in writing.

I really need assistance. These people are cruel. They are scammers.

Your intervention will be appreciated.

YMA recently did the same thing to me on 2024/02/29, a lady called and said she is calling from NCR and told me how my bank is overcharging me on interest since covid 19. She tricked me into approving a debit order telling me that I am authorizing a limit my bank can take and forcing them to lower their interest rate because they have been overcharging me since Covid 19.

They even processed a life cover on my behalf with without telling me, while I still believe I was talking to someone from NCR. After realizing that i was scammed i called their office immediately within 5 minutes to stop whatever they were signing me for. I didn’t even know it was debt review and the gentleman I spoke to in their office said I should send a copy of my ID, payslip, bank statement and proof of address, I swore at him for treating me like an idiot, why would they request these documents when I am asking for the process to be cancelled? they wanted to proceed with the application of cause. Luckily, I didn't send my documents but I am still concerned as to how far they went with the process as they proved to me that they are not afraid of the law by doing what they did. My credit records is very good, and i can afford to pay my accounts in a way that I pay extra on top of what I am obliged to pay every month.

I immediately called my bank to stop the debit order as it was set to go off the same day. I was lucky the bank managed to suspend it but I am still concerned it may go off in future as the bank can only suspend it for now. YMA is a bunch of crooks; they are getting dangerously desperate to make sales.
