World Cargo (World Cargo Marketing '2008' Inc.), based in Vancouver BC, has owed me a $525 CAD refund for over a year and refuses to pay it.
I shipped a vehicle through them. I was invoiced for insurance based on a $70,000 value and paid $1,125 CAD, but the correct value was $30,000, so the insurance cost was lower. On July 31, 2025, their coordinator confirmed in writing that the corrected amount owed was $600 CAD and that I would be refunded $525 CAD. Their Director of Operations, Ian Humphries, instructed a colleague by email to send it.
Since then I have followed up at least six times (August, September, November 2025, and January 2026). Every single time, World Cargo acknowledged in writing that the $525 is owed and repeated the promise to pay it — but no payment was ever made and no date ever provided. It is now over a year later and my calls and emails go unanswered.
My shipment also resulted in a customs tax bill far higher than I was led to expect, and the onward transport I understood would be arranged never was. But the clearest issue is simple: they confirmed in writing, repeatedly, that they owe me $525 CAD, and have never paid.
I have the full email chain documenting everything.
Country of complaint: Canada
Claimed loss: 525 CAD
Desired outcome: Full payment of the $525 CAD refund World Cargo has repeatedly confirmed in writing that they owe.
